S2 Games and iGames Publishing today announced an official release date of August 25, 2003 for the highly anticipated PC game Savage: The Battle for Newerth. The game received unanimous praise from attendees at the 2003 Electronic Entertainment Expo for its innovative gameplay and seamless melding of first-person action with real-time-strategy. Savage is currently in the second phase of beta testing and is expected to move to an open beta towards the end of July.

Codemasters has released yet another multiplayer map for its stealth-based FPS, IGI 2: Covert Strike. The new 'Winterland' map is the first IGI2 snow-based multiplayer mission with Conspiracy as attackers inevitable trying to launce 2 missiles from 2 mobile launchers. It is IGI's job to defend the mountain top base from the hoardes of evil. This map requires you to have v1.2 in order to play this map. Atari, BioWare Corp. and FloodGate Entertainment have released the first official expansion to the smash hit "Neverwinter Nights", the award-winning fantasy role-playing game based in the "Dungeons & Dragons" "Forgotten Realms" world created by Wizards of the Coast. DreamCatcher Games today announced that it will publish Enigma: Rising Tide, developed by Tesseraction Games, in North America. Controlling the battle at sea ultimately leads to a victory in any war, and Enigma: Rising Tide allows gamers to do just that. Battling as one of three factions (US, German or the League of Free Nations) players must control a naval fleet of destroyers, submarines, battleships or cruisers. Each commander must deploy suitable weapons to tackle an ever-evolving enemy, from deploying deck guns and torpedoes to launching hedgehogs, and depth charges.

Activision Inc. filed a breach of contract suit alleging media giant Viacom Inc. isn't adequately exploiting the Star Trek franchise, thereby diminishing the value of the video game developer's license to produce Star Trek-themed games. In 1998, Activision entered a 10-year licensing arrangement with Viacom that gave it exclusive rights to produce Star Trek titles across all gaming platforms.

Focus Interactive/Cyanide Studio have released patch another beta patch (full patch said to be expected next week) for their recently released cycling simulation game Cycling Manager 3. This upgrade brings your retail game to v1.4b and fixes the 'Time Trail bug', sprint bug, adjusts some ratings, improves AI, fixes a few problems in editor, etc. Read more for detailed fix list and download list.
The storyline follows the player through the major actions in the conflict, from search and destroy missions around Danang airbase to the Tet offensive and the counterattack on Hue. The game will support a cooperative mode that allows the player to experience the entire tour of duty with his friends, and various multiplayer modes allow the player to experience the war from the perspective of North Vietnamese Army or Viet Cong guerillas as well as US Forces. This all sounds good enough for us to sneak up on 2015's John Whitmore, fire off some annoying questions and capture a few new screens in the process ...
