Activision announced that legendary guitar hero Slash will provide an original track and appear as a boss battle character in Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock, delivering wannabe rock stars the chance to shred against the music icon.

In a somewhat surprising move, it seems that the long time Tony Hawk developer Neversoft may have taken over development of the Guitar Hero franchise. Harmonix, known for the first 2 Guitar Hero titles, but also Karaoke Revolution, is rumored to move its resources to an all-new IP. Neversoft is recruiting for the 3rd title in the franchise, one of the positions being a PS3 Graphics Engineer, indicating a move from PS2 to Sony's nextgen console.
