Activision Blizzard announced December quarter and calendar year 2009 financial result, racking up net revenues of $4.28 billion. More importantly CEO Robert Kotick stated that WoW: Cataclysm and StarCraft II (also as digital download through Battle.net) are both scheduled for later this year, with the latter going into closed beta this month, while new installments in the Call of Duty, Guitar Hero, DJ Hero, Tony Hawk and Spider-Man franchises are also planned for 2010.

Activision Blizzard posted better-than-expected financial results for Q2 2009, driven by Prototype, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, the Guitar Hero, and Call of Duty franchises, as well as World of Warcraft. However, Activision CEO Bobby Kontick revealed that Singularity and StarCraft II are getting delayed until 2010, while Mike Griffith stated that next year we can see new installments in the James Bond, Tony Hawk and Spider-Man franchises.

Yesterday's revelation of the missing LAN multiplayer stirred up quite a ruckus, which
Blizzard says was a hard decision to make, but had to be made "to ensure a quality multiplayer experience with StarCraft II and safeguard against piracy."
