At the Playstation Meeting 2005, From Software revealed its first Playstation 3 title, Project Force. After earlier announcing its support for the X360 with Chrome Hounds and Em : Enchant Arm, the Armored Core developer goes back to its long time mech roots. Mythic Entertainment today announced the "Come Back to Camelot" Campaign, which invites past Dark Age of Camelot players to experience the game's upgrades and additions free of charge for ten days. Not a big surprise considering its retail success, through an
interview with IGN, EA revealed that its DICE development studio is working on an expansion pack for its recently released multiplayer FPS sequel Battlefield 2. While the original game is being fought out between regular grunts, BF2: Special Forces will beef up all the classes to Special Forces and add 7-8 new night/day maps (smaller troop oriented, urban environment, airport map, missile launch facility etc.), gadgets (night vision and grappler/zipline, flashbang, tear gas), six new armies (Navy Seals, British SAS, Russian Spetznaz, MEC Special Forces and two insurgent groups), ten new vehicles, and twelve new base weapons. Battlefield 2: Special Forces is expected Fall of 2005.

Microsoft announced that it has signed exclusive rights to develop and publish MMO games featuring Marvel Enterprises' super heroes, including Spider-man, the X-men and the Hulk. The deal covers massively multiplayer online (MMO) game titles developed for Microsoft's upcoming Xbox 360 and published by the game studio. The deal is Marvel's first MMO pact, and the first title is expected in 2008.

Assembly Speaker Leland Yee today blasted the ESRB for failing to appropriately rate Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Recently it was reported that GTA:SA includes hidden animations which allow players to watch graphic scenes featuring oral sex, nudity, and simulated intercourse, which Rockstar denies. Despite these graphic scenes, GTA:SA only received a "Mature" rating instead of the ESRB's most restrictive rating "Adults Only." Most retailers will not carry games with an AO rating.

IBM will receive $775 million in cash and $75 million in credit for software from Microsoft Corp. to settle claims that resulted from the federal government's antitrust case against Microsoft in the 1990s. U.S. District Judge Thomas Penfield Jackson ruled in 2000 that Microsoft engaged in anticompetitive practice, and the judge's ruling cited IBM as a company that Microsoft had forced to "desist from certain technological innovations and business initiatives."

SpecForce developer Techland has today announced that the SP demo of its latest sci-fi FPP tactical shooter will be available for download on Thursday July 5th. 335 MB file containing one of eleven missions will be available in English, French, German and Polish language. The players will be able to use their own tactics and a bunch of modern military equipment including armored vehicles, stationary weapons, Power Armor and over 10 futuristic personal weapons.
