Based on the blockbuster apocalyptic series by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins, Left Behind: Eternal Forces is an RTS game allowing you to join the Tribulation Forces and participate actively in the battle of good versus evil. BFME 2 takes part in the North where a battle is raging between Sauron's forces vs. elves and dwarves. It will be possible to create/customize your own hero, apart from known figures such as Arwin, and become more powerful as you progress in the game. While BFME was all land based, the sequel will also take the action on the sea, naval battles included.

Variety is reporting that Ghost House Pictures has acquired the film rights to Sony's PS2 exclusive horror game Siren. Michael Gordon has been hired to write the screenplay, and he will work close together with Siren director Keiichiro Toyama. The Siren film version will focus on an American med school student searching for her missing sister in Japan. She begins her investigation in the remote mountain village of Hanuda, only to find herself trapped with an unspeakable evil that can no longer be contained.

Gizmondo Europe, owned by Tiger Telematics, filed for bankruptcy protection with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Last week Tiger tried to give Gizmondo Europe a $5 million short term loan but that did not seem to be enough to turn the tide. In light of the filing Gizmondo Europe laid off half of its workforce to reduce expenses. The Gizmondo handheld failed miserably, despite its huge marketing rollout, in both Europe and North America.

UK trade magazine MCV claims to have received word from an insider that Activision snagged the rights to develop a game based on DreamWorks Studios' upcoming The Transformers animated movie. Given the trackrecord of the two companies, Shrek 2, Madagascar, A Shark's Tale, and various other titles, this might not be too far fetched. The source said "Activision picked up the rights to Transformers last year and has already set a top US studio to work on the project," but Activision refuses to comment on rumors.
