Revealed a few months ago, StateShift is an original sci-fi racing title, set in a not too distant future, focusses on illegal racing competitions around the future Earth where economical instability, and depletion of resources has led to a series of bloody conflicts.

Ritual managed to shock a lot of people last week when it announced its sudden acquisition by casual games developer/puyblisher MumboJumbo, putting the future of its SiN Episodes in question. An inhouse Q&A reveals we might see Episode 2 somewhere down the line, "What we plan to do right now, both Ritual and MumboJumbo, is establish ourselves in the casual gaming market with strong new franchises and then return to SiN at a later date. We love SiN, make no mistake, and we definitely want to return to it."

Killzone: Liberation is an all new, action-packed installment in the Killzone series, and features a new intelligent 3rd-person camera system. One of the best games of 2006 is getting even better as SCE is currently beta testing the Infrastructure Mode to possibly add Deathmatch multiplayer to Killzone Liberation.

Infernal is a 3rd person action adventure that is set in a present day scenario, with stunning environments and strong characters. The story relates to the eternal conflict between good and evil, confronted in supernatural intelligence agencies.

Sony released its 3rd quarter results revealing it has shipped 1.8 million units, and while revenue was up nearly 10%, its overall income dropped 5%. PS2 and PSP hardware sales dropped, and overall software sales also declined, although the sale of PSP titles in particular was up. As a results Sony Games division recorded a $455 million loss, compared to $570 million income last year.

Xing Interactive announced its latest title, Hole in One Minigolf, a golf game runs on WinXP and Vista and is designed for easy localisation. As the name might suggest it is a Minigolf game and it features splendid 3D gameplay. There are over 60 holes to play for both experts and beginners.

JAZZ: Hired Guns is a classic turn-based tactical strategy with strong RPG elements, and fully destroyable environment. It offers well known mechanics and atmosphere of the original games, as well as the pleasure of meeting good old friends - A.I.M. mercenaries.

Slitherine announced that it is to work closely with the Lordz Game Studio, a mod team turned professional developers, on its first commercial title, a historical strategy game set during the Napoleonic wars. Slitherine will assist in design, development and have signed up worldwide publishing rights for the title.

Take 2 is looking for people who can come and play BioShock in the 2K offices in SoHo, for 3 hours a day, for 3 days in a row. You'll get $10 an hour, and get to play 9 hours of BioShock.
