A few days ago we revealed that KD-Labs has formed a new label KDV Games and today they announced the signing of a deal which will see Codemasters publish their first, yet unannounced, title. KDV Games is focused on the development of new technologies and professional toolsets for the effective creation of quality entertainment software and the new project will become the first testing ground for its brand new Vista Engine.

Multiplay, the UK's leading "LAN Party" organisers today announced the sponsorship of their upcoming i15 event by the game publisher Codemasters. This sponsorship will bring prize-winning tournaments to the event for two of the latest games from Codemasters, the first-person shooter Project IGI2 and long awaited sequel to Toca Touring Cars 2, Toca Race Driver. A prize fund of £1,500 is up for grabs in the IGI2 tournament, which will be played on the retail version of the game due for release on the 21st February. The tournament will see up to 48 clans (teams) battling it out for a share in the prize money. To make things interesting, the i15 tournament play will include a completely new map, pre-released exclusively to i15 attendees.

Codemasters today confirms it has secured the global publishing rights to "World War II: RTS" (development title only) from 1C Company, the leading Russian game company renowned for the acclaimed flight simulator, IL-2 Sturmovik. Designed to take players closer to the entire, gruelling war experience than any strategy game previously, "World War II: RTS" will capture both the tactics and the emotions of being a commander in WWII’s key battles. The game has already attracted much attention for its historical detail and dramatic use of impressive visuals. The title is now in full development at 1C, with Codemasters consulting on game design; a release is planned in the spring of 2004. Check out six new ingame screens!
