Bits Studios, together with NDA Productions, a studio of Vivendi Universal Games today announce that New York's unluckiest cop, John McClane, returns in a new adventure on PS 2. The first-person action adventure Die Hard: Vendetta - in which McClane fights to save his kidnapped daughter - is being developed under licence from Fox Interactive, and will be released in Europe, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.

The success of the multiplayer demo and Jolt's resilient network and servers is demonstrated by the fact that all 10 Official servers (powered by Jolt) have been full 24/7 since the release of the demo at 14:00 GMT on January 10th. Jolt will provide servers for both the multiplayer beta test and the full game which is published on February 14 2003 for PC CD-ROM.

Entertainment software publisher NovaLogic Ltd. today announced that they are looking forward to their busiest ever Q1 in 2003 with the release of three PC titles, Delta Force - Black Hawk Down, Highland Warriors and Devastation... Delta Force - Black Hawk Down will ship on February 28th, 2003, Highland Warriors on March 21st, 2003 and Devastation on March 21st, 2003.
The company also announced that a single and multiplayer demo for Delta Force - Black Hawk Down would be available at the beginning of February. More details about the demo will be released shortly.

Midway Games announced today that Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance has sold through more than one million units across all platforms between its November 22 launch and the end of 2002. The game is currently available for the PlayStation2 computer entertainment system, the Xbox video game system from Microsoft, Nintendo GameCube and Game Boy Advance. Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance is scheduled to launch in Europe in February 2003.

Activision Inc. and Marvel Enterprises Inc. agreed to extend their superhero video game licensing agreements. Financial details weren't disclosed, but the companies said the new agreement represents the largest deal between the parties and includes improved financial terms. In a press release Wednesday, Activision said it will develop and publish video game products based on Marvel's comic book franchises Spider-Man, X-Men, Fantastic Four and Iron Man through 2009. Under the new agreement, Activision also has the option to acquire the interactive entertainment rights to develop products in conjunction with motion pictures and television series involving those characters.

The Observer reports that violent computer games are to be regulated by a film-style classification system that will warn parents about graphic sex or horrific images. The move comes after complaints about the content of games such as Hooligans: Storm over Europe, State of Emergency and Carmaggedon, which show graphic images of fighting, death and reckless driving. From April all computer games sold in the EU will carry the new classifications. Those with no violent content or sex will be rated 3+, indicating the age from which they can be played. There will also be classifications of 7+, 12+, 16+ and 18+.

The patch will be released in 2 versions, a full (50mb) and lite version (16mb). The Full version will upgrade any version of SoF2, with the Lite version updating 1.02 to 1.03 (Gold).
