According to a post on the
Plutonium Games' website, it seems that their RPG/FPS Cleric has been cancelled or in the very least indefinitely postponed. The message reads : After a long trip, it looks as if Cleric may not be made for a long time to come, if ever. I want to thank everyone that has supported us over the years. This site will remain up as will the forums. I have recently (3 months ago) taken a job with another studio (Destineer Studios - www.destineerstudios.com) as a 3D Artist on their tactical shooter project "Close Combat - Marines: First to Fight". Vivendi Universal Games announced today that it will be distributing the videogames "Starsiege: Tribes" and "Tribes 2" for free on a special-edition DVD-ROM bundled with the newsstand edition of the June issue of Computer Gaming World magazine and online via FilePlanet.com. Rumoured and revealed by TeamXbox a few weeks ago, today Microsoft Corp. said it would turn to International Business Machines Corp. for microchip technology that it will use in the next version of its popular video game console, the Xbox. Redmond, Washington-based Microsoft, the world's largest software company, used a chip from the No. 1 microprocessor maker, Intel Corp., in the first version of its Xbox, which was released in 2000.

Eidos today announced it has secured a development partnership deal with Highway 1 Productions, Inc. (Hwy 1), a newly founded independent production company. Eidos and Hwy 1 have recently begun development on a third person, urban action game with an online component for the PlayStation2 and Xbox. The game will be formally announced and showcased in the Eidos’ booth at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), held annually in Los Angeles, CA from May 12-14, 2004.

The U.S. Army announced today that it has teamed with Ultimate Arena to hold the AMD America's Army: Special Forces Tournament at E3. The tournament will be run by Ultimate Arena and supported by Even Balance's PunkBuster. Jowood have now released a new patch for Phenomic Game Development's 3D RTS/RPG game SpellForce: the Order of Dawn. This update patch brings your retail game to v1.11 and adds additional convenience functionality to the game, which displays the number of existing buildings and buildings being build in the tool-tips of the selected buildings. On June 7, Nintendo is going totally retro with a classic collection of eight Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) games for the GBA and a tubular new GBA SP that looks like an itty bitty NES console. The `80s were, like, a long time ago. But everything from then is way cool again. Back then, games went from blocky bleeps and bloops to sweet side-scrollers like Super Mario Bros.
