Raven Software has released the multiplayer SDK for Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix, offering prospective mod authors everything needed to start creating modifications for this new mercenary FPS. Activision and Raven Software just released a new single player demo from Raven's realistic first person shooter, Soldier of Fortune II, that lets you play two levels (Columbian Jungle and Seaward Star) as mercenary-for-hire, John Mullins. Ubi Soft today announced a licensing agreement with Eidos for Tomb Raider on Game Boy ® Advance. With the new two-year agreement, Ubi Soft acquires exclusive worldwide development and publishing rights for 'Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Prophecy' for the Game Boy Advance. The game will be released this Christmas.

Crave Entertainment announced today that Warner Bros. Consumer Products has awarded the company a license to develop a Game Boy Advance title featuring the three mischievous, ever-scheming neighborhood friends seen daily on Cartoon Network's hit animated series Ed, Edd n Eddy. The title is anticipated to ship in Fall 2002.

LucasArts Entertainment Company LLC today announced its intent to develop versions of the company's highly anticipated first game of its Star Wars Galaxies online series for Xbox Live and PlayStation 2. Specific release dates for the Star Wars Galaxies-branded massively multiplayer games for the two next generation console platforms will be announced at a later time. This December LucasArts will release a Windows PC version of the game, developed by Sony Online Entertainment, titled Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided.

EA announces development has begun on Freedom: The Battle for Liberty Island (working title), an third-person action-adventure game set in the grim reality of an alternate history. As the hero, the player takes the role of a mild mannered, blue-collar worker who finds himself hurled into the position of a fearless freedom fighter as he battles an invading Soviet Red Army on the besieged streets of New York City. The game is currently in development for the PlayStation2 computer entertainment system and Xbox video game system from Microsoft, from Io Interactive and is slated for a worldwide release fall 2002. A first-person version of the game is also in development for the PC and is scheduled for a winter release.

Kenn Hoekstra from ravensoft reports in his last .plan file that their master servers for Elite Force and Jedi Outcast will be out today (Saturday) morning from 9am CST to approximately 1pm, depending on how their network maintenance goes. Originally it was slated for last week Saturday, but had to be delayed. Ubi Soft Entertainment, one of the world's largest video game publishers, today announced that it has entered into a publishing agreement under which 1C: Maddox Games will develop new content for the multi-award winning WWII combat flight simulation title, IL-2 Sturmovik. IL2-Sturmovik: The Forgotten Battles will include two new maps for Finland and Hungary, expanding the battlefield for both single and multiplayer modes. It will also feature more than 20 new single player missions and ten cooperative multiplayer missions. IL2-Sturmovik: The Forgotten Battles is expected to ship to retail stores worldwide in Fall 2002.
