Dan Cermak from Westwood tossed up some news in the official forums for the FPS, C&C: Renegade, regarding the release of the patch that will hopefully solve the lag problems. Here is a snip from his posting;

We worked late into the night to get this corrected and expect to have a new demo and a patch up today. Be assured that the problem is not in the network code or in the game, we simply did not set enough limits in reqards to who could host the game. I apologize for any problems or issues this may have caused.

Pharaoh productions got seven new screens posted from their upcoming PC and XBox multiplayer RPG title, DOMINION, they also added a new History section to the public design overview.

We grabbed the 114 MB demo of DIGGLES: The Myth of Fenris today and snapped some shots.. DIGGLES is a new and exciting 3D strategy game that features dwarflike characters of the same name, immerses players into a magical underground world full of adventure, danger and mystery. We got three slightly fuzzy grabs from each world from Nintendos GBA title, Super Mario World: Super Mario Advance 2, to coincide with the US release.

I just noticed over at Blues that there is a new movie trailer of Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix posted on PC.IGN.com. This new movie is 17.1 MB to grab and sports a minute of action-packed footage. Grab it here.

Computer and Video Games yesterday tossed up an article that confirms the development of two new Command & Conquer RTS titles. Here is a part from the article:

"We're working on Earth & Beyond, the space-based RPG, and we're also working on another Command & Conquer real-time strategy title in addition to the one that's coming out the recently revealed, next-gen C&C RTS, so we're actually working on two of those right now." Full article here.

Die Hard: Nakatomi Plaza is the first-person shooter based on the first Die Hard movie. Today Havas Interactive let us know that the game has been delayed until 26th April 2002.

Strategy First announced today that a 114 MB demo for their upcoming real-time strategy game, Diggles: The Myth of Fenris is now available for download from Gigex. This demo will take you on an adventure under the earth where you will lead the Diggles on a quest to defeat a dragon that is eating members of the VooDoo clan. Ubi Soft Entertainment, one of the world’s largest video game publishers, and Archie Comic Publications, Inc. along with Viacom Consumer Products, the licensing division of Paramount Television, today announced an exclusive licensing agreement for Ubi Soft to develop and publish a game based on the popular television series SABRINA, THE TEENAGE WITCH. The title for the Game Boy Advance covers all countries, and is expected to ship worldwide in the fall of 2002.

Developed by Reakktor Media, Neocron is a MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) set in a post-apocalyptic metropolis that promises to set standards in its genre. Seems like we missed to toss this announcement up, but here it is anyway.. Konami of America, Inc. announced today that its successful PlayStation 2 adventure game, Shadow of Destiny, will be released for the PC in April 2002. Originally released in Spring 2001, Shadow of Destiny has received numerous accolades for its rich story line and stunning graphics.

XGR tossed up a bunch of new screens from press the build of the 3D tactical RPG, Freedom Force, that is in the works at Irrational Games.

Fileplanet is now mirroring the Star Trek: Bridge Commander Demo. The demo is 120 MB to grab and you can find it HERE. It´s also available on the official site for Bridge Commander. The demo requires 350 MB of uncompressed temporary space to install (but requires only 275 MB of permanent hard drive space to run).

Today, Westwood Studios and GameSpy Arcade will be holding an official multiplay demo of Command & Conquer Renegade. GameSpy Arcade will be the exclusive download site and host for the demo, which includes one multiplayer map, and will allow full access to all 28 characters, 23 weapons, and 11 vehicles available in the team-based C&C Mode. The demo will be found on FilePlanet!
