Cryptic's Jack Emmert unveiled the first Star Trek Online details, revealing that you will start as a captain of either a small Starfleet or Klingon Empire ship, customize your characters as an existing Star Trek species or create a completely new race. You'll venture through space exploring galaxies, new civilizations and life-forms, beam down to planets, have adventures inside your ship or investigate outer space. STO is set a few generations after the Next Generation, so people, ships and locations, may look familiar but will have retired or evolved.

Star Trek Supremacy allows you to play up to 6 major races over a massive galactic map, putting you in charge of every aspect from handling Diplomacy, conducting Research, Colony Development, engaging in Espionage and controlling your entire military. While details are vague, Warcry broke the news and indicates that another Bay Area/California developer has taken over the Star Trek Online project, and it's unclear whether any former Perpetual people are involved.
