At last year's Comic-Con, Marvel Studios production boss Kevin Feige revealed that a new Marvel vs. Capcom installment was in the works, while last week Achievements popped up. Further confirming that 2003's Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is coming to XBLA, and most likely PSN as well, is a new teaser site, counting down to next week Monday.

At last year's Comic-Con, Marvel Studios production boss Kevin Feige revealed that a new Marvel vs. Capcom installment was in the works, and according to the just-revealed Achievements, it seems 2003's Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is coming to XBLA and most likely PSN as well.

Capcom will allow its community members to show their fan spirit with a unique Capcom Unity Visa user-funded prepaid card, specifically designed for gamers. This is not a credit card, but will give you rewards, points and other benefits as you use it.

Capcom announced its latest financial results revealing that net sales decreased 8.6% from the same term last year, operating income decreased to 57.2% compared to 2007, ordinary income dropped 67.7% and a whopping 95% less net income. The reason for the slacking performance is its weak arcade business, the rise of the yen's exchange rate, and not having the release of flagship titles until Q4 (Resident Evil 5 and Street Fighter IV).

The PC Gaming Alliance, a nonprofit corporation dedicated to driving the worldwide growth of PC gaming, announced the addition of representatives from Capcom and The Guildhall at Southern Methodist University (SMU) to their Board of Directors.

Capcom has signed a development agreement with UK based Monumental Games (formed in 2005 by former Climax employees, currently working on Hunter's World, and recently acquired Swordfish Studios' Manchester office) which will develop an as yet unannounced multi-platform title scheduled for release and published by Capcom later this year.

Capcom confirmed that seven of its upcoming titles will be released within the first half of 2009, demonstrating itss commitment to pursuing a multiformat strategy and growing its portfolio of titles such as Flock!, Resident Evil 5, Street Fighter IV, etc...

While the economy has been beating companies left and right, Capcom's latest financial result shows a different picture. Mainly driven by Monster Hunt G sales, Capcom's net income increased 16.8% compared to last year, which however only accounted for a 1% increase on profit. The brunt of the income was made by its Arcade division, which saw nearly 200% sales increase driven by Street Fighter IV, Sengoku BASARA X (cross), and Fate/Unlimited Codes, replacing last year's 570 million yen loss with a 737 million yen income gain.

Marvel vs. Capcom 2 pits more than 50 of Capcom’s legendary characters and Marvel’s world famous super heroes against each other for dream matches of epic proportions, delivering three-on-three tag team matches and numerous modes of play. Released on PS2/Xbox in 2000, a new ESRB entry indicates that MvC 2 might be coming to PS3/X360, most likely as a downloadable title. Wonder if this is what Marvel Studios production boss Kevin Feige was referring to at Comic-Con.

During a panel discussion at Comic-Con, Marvel Studios production boss Kevin Feige was asked whether fans might see a new installment in the Marvel vs. Capcom franchise, and he replied, "Yes, and maybe sooner than you think." No further details were revealed, but that confirmation on its own will surely please fans who haven't had a title in the 2-D fighter series since 2003's Marvel vs. Capcom 2 on the Xbox.

Capcom announced the company's lineup for the 2008 E3 Media & Business Summit to be held July 13 - 16 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. In addition to the expected Resident Evil 5, Street Fighter IV, and Bionic Commando, expect to go back in time with Mega Man 9, or check out the mysterious, yet unannounced, Flock.

Capcom believes that more sales bases are needed to achieve faster growth by capturing market share outside Japan, where the market for video games is expected to continue to expand, particularly in Europe, which has recently been growing rapidly. Capcom already has subsidiaries in the UK and Germany, and now decided to establish an office in France.

Capcom announced that it has entered into an agreement to license Epic Games' Unreal Engine 3, the second agreement between Capcom and Epic Games on licensing Unreal Engine 3, for a yet unannounced European developed title.

With the E3 Media & Business Summit kicking off next month at the Los Angeles Convention Center, several publishers have revealed the lineup of titles that will be on display. Most companies always keep a few surprises for the actual show, and so when Capcom sent out their list, it mentioned 10 known titles and two yet untitled projects that will be unveiled at the event.

Digital download portal GamersGate announced that Capcom will be making some of its upcoming games available for digital download, starting with its swashbuckling RTS game Plunder, action title Bionic Commando: Rearmed and a wide selection of other PC titles in the Capcom portfolio.

Not only has Capcom acquired the MotoGP license earlier today, but it is also expanding its internal development studio by acquiring Japanese studio K2, known for Valhalla Knights and the Tenchu series. Capcom has used the services of K2 in the past, both companies are located in Osaka, and by making K2 a wholly owned subsidiary, Capcom plans to make its game development activities more efficient and speedy.

Capcom confirmed that it has secured a 5 year exclusive worldwide rights to publish official videogames on the World’s premier motorcycling championship, MotoGP, expanding its previous Playstation only license across all hardware platforms.

Capcom promised it would have a big announcement this week, and with Bionic Commando it sure seems to have kept its word, but if you thought that was it, you're sorely mistaken. Today, Capcom revealed that it is bringing Lost Planet to PS3 and that Street Fighter 4 is under development (no platforms yet), as well a next-gen sci-fi adventure title, Dark Void.
