'EverQuest: Lost Dungeons of Norrath' Announced - Screens

Sony Online Entertainment today announced Lost Dungeons of Norrath, a new expansion for the incredibly popular PC Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (MMORPG), EverQuest. This full-sized expansion will focus on the exploration of more than forty dynamic dungeons, with the main emphasis being placed on single group content. New technology and design ideas have been implemented that will allow players to work their way through dungeons individually tailored to the strength of their group. Lost Dungeons of Norrath will be available fall 2003 in limited quantities at retail and as a secure digital download from SOE.

GameSpot has been snooping around on EBGames' upcoming games list and found out that Sony Online Entertainment is working on yet another expansion pack for their hit-title Everquest, called "Lost Dungeons of Norrath". The new expansion pack will focus on single group adventures in dungeons and catacombs and can be expected later this year. Now that tjhe cat is out of the bag, we can expect an official announcement to follow shortly, and we'll be there to bring you more detailed information.

'EverQuest II' - Enter The New World Of Norrath This Winter

Sony Online Entertainment announced today that it is adding incentives to EverQuest II, the parallel online universe to the hugely successful gaming phenomenon EverQuest, to reward current EverQuest players for the time they have invested enjoying the original title. The incentives will include exclusive crossover quest zones in each game that will be accessible only by subscribers of both games, allowing characters in EverQuest and EverQuest II to gain access to hidden treasures, an EverQuest II in-game reward for loyal fans, and additional features to be disclosed over the coming months for ongoing EverQuest and EverQuest II players. EverQuest II is expected to ship to U.S. and Canadian retail stores this winter.

SOE Adds Player-Named Server To EverQuest

Sony Online Entertainment has opened a new server for EverQuest. For the first time, a new server has been named after a human player character within the game. The 47th server has been named "Stromm," after a 55th level halfling druid character run by a player who was one of EverQuest's first thousand subscribers! Eight character names were randomly selected from the first 1,000 players who subscribed to EverQuest back in 1999, and who are still active. The brand new server gives first-time EverQuest players and experienced players searching for a fresh start in the world of Norrath the opportunity to start at the beginning. The new server also offers more room for the EverQuest community to grow as new people continue to enter the world of EverQuest in the continually evolving online adventure.

'EverQuest' Continues Exponential Growth

(SOE), a worldwide leader in massively multiplayer online gaming, announced today that it has seen significant growth in the number of simultaneous user base and recently set a new record of 118,000 simultaneous players, almost four years after the game was launched. In addition, the company is opening a brand new EverQuest server, Maelin Starpyre, and for the first time ever, will offer full character transfers from existing servers including all equipment, acquired items and experience.
