Codemasters today confirms that Wartime Command: Battle For Europe 1939-1945 is the new title for Battlefield Command, the stunning World War II tactical real time strategy game from Russian developers 1C Company in Russia. The game development project has been retitled from Battlefield Command to give it prominence in a cluttered market of similar product brands. Wartime Command will launch for PC in the spring of 2004.

CDV present two new characters: UMAK and LORD DUNMORE! Umak is a warrior of the Woodland Indian nation whose mission is to resist the white men placing his people in great danger. This, however, proves to be no easy task as there are certain problems within his own tribe. The second, Lord Dunmore, fights against the rebellion in the new British colonies. He believes that every opposition is pure treason and wants to maintain his dictatorship at all costs.

Small change-overs in the logistics of individual trade partners led to the one week delay. In Great Britain, however, the game will be appearing earlier than expected. No Man's Land has an exceptionally balanced multiplayer mode, so lets take a peek at two different multiplayer modes: "defend/destroy railroad" and the "railroad building race". The railroad building race focuses on the challenge of building a railroad across the whole map. The player who is able to reach the other end of the map first wins the race. The defend/destroy railroad mode includes more fighting; you will have to actively defend or attack your opponent during the building phase of the railroad. Both modes are really a lot of fun, and the train itself adds another bunch of special features. For instance, the player is able to request reinforcements or transport troops in the train over long distances.

In No Man's Land, the player leads the colonisation of the American continent between 1600 and 1900. In three campaigns, divided into 30 diversified missions, the player sees the historical development of this era from the viewpoint of six different ethnic groups: Englishmen, settlers, American patriots, Spaniards, Forest- and Prairie Indians. An English fort is being attacked by the patriots on a cold winter's night. It takes a few minutes until the English become fully aware of the danger, and then they begin to build up their defense even though their main towers have already caught fire.
