EA announced its initial plans for the PlayStation Home Beta, SCEA's 3D social gaming community that allows users to interact, communicate and share gaming experiences online. A remake of the 1989 action adventure platformer Prince of Persia Classic hits PlayStation Network, enhanced and updated for the HD era. Valkyria Chronicles is set in a fictitious continent reminiscent of 1930s Europe - divided in two and ruled by the Empire and the Federation. The game follows a hero named Welkin and his fellow soldiers of the Federation’s 7th Platoon as they engage in a series of epic battles. A 2 level playable demo is now live on PlayStation Network.

SCEA is expanding the availability of its PlayStation Network Cards, which can be used to purchase content for PS3 and PSP systems, to additional major retailers such as Walmart, Best Buy, select Sam’s Club outlets in October 2008, and at Barnes & Noble College Bookstores locations in November 2008.
