briefing in London Disney's CFO Tom Staggs told journalists that Disney is "ramping up our investment in video games," and plans to triple the amount of money it spends developing video games. Last year's budget reached $100 million, this year $130 million is set aside, and in the next 5 years Staggs said Disney wants to invest $350 million per year in video games, principally consoles and handhelds. Market researcher forecasts the gaming software market will be worth $21.3 billion in 2009.
