Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, has joined the PS3 Greatest Hits collection and will be available for $29.99 starting June 16, 2009. Metal Gear Solid 4 producer Ryan Payton announced that he is leaving Kojima Productions and revealed that "It'll be hard not being involved in MGS5, but I've got the utmost confidence that Hideo Kojima, Ken Imaizumi, and our amazing team will put together another blockbuster game." MGS Hideo Kojima expressed his frustration about people continually asking about MGS 4 coming to Xbox 360, saying that since it is optimized for PS3, it probably won't be possible.

Konami released its Q1 2009 financial results for the April-June quarter, revealing revenue went up 17% compared to the same period last year, while income jumped 65% dominated by the June 12 release of Metal Gear Solid 4, which has 3 million copies in two weeks. Kojima Productions' stealth action shooter boosted Konami's PS3 numbers from 1.3% last year to 57% this quarter, NDS, PS2 and PSP revenue dropped while Wii and X360 increased.
