'Ashes of Creation' European Publishing Picked Up By My.com - Screens & Trailer

by Rainier on Aug. 21, 2018 @ 12:26 a.m. PDT

Ashes of Creation is a unique take on the MMO experience, featuring a dynamic world structure built to react to the actions of our players.

Set in a fallen fantasy world untouched by civilization for thousands of years our players will rebuild, repopulate, and rediscover this uncharted realm. Our world is ever changing with ruins, beasts, and cities that rise and fall. Weaved into a progressive character system where players hold all the power, the fates of creation are yours to command.

Cities will rise and fall, their populations based on the history of the world as the players create it. Quests will unlock as these populations gather, their needs grow, and secrets are unlocked.

As the world’s NPC structure is established in real time, players will have the ability to destroy what they’ve created, paving the way for new development, new populations, and real change. Political strife and intrigue will play a very real role in the structure of your world.

Gone are the days of static worlds, change is here to stay.

Publisher My.com is proud to announce a partnership with Intrepid Studios for its Global Publishing plans. In Europe and CIS, the studio will work together with My.com and Mail.Ru.

This partnership will ensure the tools necessary to make Ashes of Creation not just the dream for all MMORPG players, but a reality that will change the future of the genre.

“The team and I are excited to bring Ashes to the global stage with our partners, My.com and Mail.Ru” said Steven Sharif, Founder and Creative Director at Intrepid Studios. “These titan publishers are firm believers in the creative vision we have for the world of Ashes and will help us make the greatest MMORPG possible.”

“We have been excited to follow Intrepid Studios’ adventures in bringing a truly revolutionary MMORPG to life with Ashes of Creation. We really love where they are taking the genre and we are not surprised their vision resonates with gamers worldwide” said Volker Boenigk, Head of Products at My.com. “We are thrilled to be able to work with Intrepid on bringing it to the European markets.”

Players will have the ability to survey and develop land anywhere in the world. Be a pioneer deep in the wilderness, build the home of your dreams, and work the land to cultivate resources and supplies. Alternatively, stick with civilization and safety in numbers – purchase a home within the confines of a village and watch your investment grow as that village turns into a city.

Homeowners in our game will have the ability to develop their plot of land as they see fit. Focus on farming, animal husbandry, or own your very own smithy. You’ll be able to specialize your land to maximize your profits or your comfort – be sure to choose wisely.

Questing in our world combines the best elements of traditional MMO’s as well as the introduction of our unique player driven experiences. Ashes of Creation offers area quests, public quests, and quest chains that change dynamically and in real time based on the player’s experiences and choices.

Players will have the ability to directly alter world events and change the landscape through their actions, as an individual and as a community. Server quests will allow political rivals to compete for the fate of the world.

Throughout Ashes of Creation, the player has an opportunity to participate in massively multiplayer siege warfare. Since castles are likely the world’s most limited resource, it will be a task to secure and hold them. Involving hundreds of players on a single battlefield, our sieges will employ many moving parts and intricate design features.

Because of the difficult nature of taking and keeping a castle there are great rewards available to the players for their efforts. Castles will allow players to exert control over nearby lands and allow for the development of unique buildings in the nearby towns.

The environment in Ashes of Creation is a visually stunning realm, with fantastical beasts and creations designed to both inspire awe and instill fear. The world is harsh and unforgiving, presenting a clear and present danger to the players. Dungeons, demons and dragons, oh MY!

Our unique and adaptive AI means that an encounter with similar creatures will yield a completely different experience to adapt to as a player. Keeping you on your toes for constantly changing responses from your adversary. The world awaits its heroes.

Player combat in Ashes of Creation is both vast and intimate. It spans many aspects of the game itself. From great political battles held on the fields of massive castles, to open world conflicts fought for the pride of Guild Leaders. A player can choose to participate in the fate of the world by swaying the tide of battle with his or her combat prowess.

Our PvP mechanics follow a flagging system, as well as static PvP zones at certain points of interest; fight for control over cities, castles, caravans, or hunting grounds. Our PvP is designed to offer the players a well-balanced and fair world to shape through the pen, or sword should they choose.

Our caravan system in Ashes of Creation revolves around opportunity and risk. Caravans facilitate the transfer of goods for players wishing to turn a profit. Initiating a caravan from one city to another will create a caravan that players will need to defend while it moves along its route to the selected destination.

These caravans create a static PvP zone around them, allowing players to engage in PvP with the defenders and attempt to destroy the caravans in order to loot the content. These caravans will be integral in city development.

We want our players to have a reason to explore the wilderness, to travel with purpose, and much of that will be driven by our resource system. Transporting these goods might just be more difficult than gathering them. Our regional market system allows players to participate in creating pocket economies that will reinforce the stability of goods in particular regions.

Players will be able to move resources and set up shop in other areas to take advantage of the varied markets. With resources spawning dynamically, certain regions will naturally become important trading hubs for the transportation of goods throughout the world.

Crafting and gathering is a very important component of the economy that players will have direct control over. Whether you wish to build a sprawling plantation around your house, or wish to travel the vast wilderness in search of treasure and resources. There are many tools available to the crafters of our world.

Regardless of how you gather your resources, we believe that every item that exists in the world should in some way reflect its creator. As such, there will be extreme versatility in our crafting system – giving crafters the ability to create unique items that represent their strengths and weaknesses.

Key Features:

  • Reactive World that Changes Based on Player Interaction: Ashes of Creation uses a dynamic node system, unique to MMOs. Nodes are widespread locations throughout the world that players can develop when they complete quests, kill monsters, PvP, etc. Nodes have their own experience levels which grow as players participate in normal activities within their “zone of influence”. Nodes can eventually grow into camps, villages, and at their pinnacle, metropolises. As these nodes grow, so do the quests and services the nodes offer to players. However, nothing lasts forever. World events may trigger horrific monsters which can attack nodes, even other players may pose a threat. Every node has the possibility of being be attacked and destroyed, the reinforcing of competing interests lies central to philosophy behind node design.
  • Massive PvP Sieges for Castle Dominance: Players can work together to siege castles and take control of territories for themselves. This is done through massively multiplayer siege warfare where hundreds of players can come together to attack or defend key targets.  These castles are the epitome of guild driven politics and exert control over the nodes that fall within a castle’s region of influence.
  • Caravans & Strategic Trading: In Ashes of Creation, our economies are regionalized, both for our markets and our resources.   Caravans facilitate the transit of goods between regions. Initiating a trade from one city to another will create a caravan that players will need to defend while it moves along its route to its destination. These caravans create PvP zones around them, allowing other players the option to attack it. Caravans are integral parts of city development as cities require a massive amount of resources to upgrade. Players will be able to move their resources and set up shop in other areas of the world in order to take advantage of the new developing markets.
  • Affiliate System Lets Players Earn Cold, Hard Cash: Ashes of Creation allows all players who register on our site to participate in our affiliate program. This program gives players access to a unique referral link that they can use to invite others to play the game. If another player uses their registration link to sign up, the referrer is able to receive 15% of that player’s purchases back as either; in-game store credits, subscription time, or cold, hard cash! We feel this is important because it allows for a viable way to create a sustainable MMO that does not rely on cash grab/p2w marketing schemes, which in turn ruin the game.It also allows us to GIVE BACK to the community, which essentially is the most important aspect of an MMORPG.
