Bannermen is a classic real-time strategy game where you take on the role of a fallen lord on his journey back to become one of the mightiest in the realm.

The game combines classic RTS elements such as base-building and resource management, with unique new environmental magic. These special spells allow players to summon lightning strikes, tornadoes, volcano outbursts, and more deadly nature-based effects which not only turn the tide of battle, but can change the face of the game world itself. Bannermen features four game modes and an expansive game world for the taking!

Bannermen takes place in the realm of Valtoria, a low-fantasy medieval world ravaged by decades of war, starvation, and natural disasters. Players take on the role of Lord Berrian trying to recapture his kingdom’s former glory, finding and rallying bannermen to battle against a host of tribes and the dark Lord Karthor. By utilizing nature powers — a core feature of Bannermen — players can leverage natural phenomena such as lightning strikes to electrocute armies, take advantage of dust storms that limit vision to sneak past enemies, and much more.  With a fully story-driven campaign, each mission contains varied gameplay and challenges designed to push the narrative forward.

With innovative gameplay and dynamic environments, Pathos Interactive aims to refresh the real-time strategy genre. Bannermen will contain a singleplayer campaign and several multiplayer modes with matchmaking and ladders, where the main tasks consist of base building, resource management and battling enemy armies. The maps and missions vary in both length and shape and include features never before seen in RTS games. Players will be able to interact with the environment, creating interesting combats and greater strategic depth.

The goal of the game is to lead your bannermen to victory and defeat the evil, once and for all.

In Bannermen players command armies in grand battles — using conventional medieval weapons and unique nature magic that will not only devastate the opposition but change the world around them. Bannermen combines classic RTS elements such as base-building and resource management, with unique environmental magic. These special spells allow players to summon lightning strikes, tornadoes, volcano outbursts, and more deadly nature-based effects which can turn the tide of battles and the battlefield itself.

  • Archers: Archers are good at dealing damage from a distance, allowing them to stay out of the direct fighting. They are useful both in attacking and defending, and are most efficient while having melee units guarding them. Keep your enemies at a distance and the arrows raining down.
    • Upgrade: FLAMING ARROWS - that rain fire down on their foes.
  • Catapults: Catapults are great at attacking buildings at long range, but are especially vulnerable against melee units and can not attack them if they are too close. Make those buildings crumble and let no one come close .
    • Upgrade: FIRE STONES - stones covered in burning oil, hurled at their targets for extra damage.
  • Clerics: Clerics have a wide skill set and can be utilized in many different ways. Paired with a great leader, they can tip the scale of war in your favor. Use their spells wisely and it might grant you the upper hand.
    • Spells/Abilities:
      • CORRUPTION - a magical spell that lessens the damage foes can deliver.
      • DARK SWARM - a flock of crows attacks a chosen area, resulting in an area of effect damage.
      • RAVEN EYE - the cleric sends out a raven to scout a chosen area.
    • Upgrade: DIVINE GLORY - gives the cleric increased start and max mana.
  • Footmen: Footmen are a cornerstone of every great army and offer fast movement along with moderate attack damage and health. They are effective both on offense and defense. Utilize their speed and cut through the battlefield.
    • Upgrade: BLOOD RUSH - a passive spell that gives increased movement speed until reaching a nearby targeted enemy.
  • Jesters: Jesters are a crazy bunch, yet very effective if you channel their madness well. You just might turn your opponent insane with their foul tricks. Harass your enemy with jesters and their dirty tricks.
    • Spells/Abilities:
      • TELEPORTATION DAGGER - the jester throws one of his daggers against an enemy. During a short period of time (2s) after the hit, by activating this spell once again, the jester teleports to the location of the inflicted enemy and deals a painful back-stab.
      • PERFUME CLOUD - throwing a bottle of strong perfume on the ground, the jester creates a cloud that befuddles units in the area, resulting in decreased movement speed.
      • JESTER MASK - the jester places his mask on chosen spot. When activating this spell again, the jester teleports back to the mask.
  • Knights: Knights are heavy both in mindset and gear. Their huge hammer keeps every sane man far away. Their swings are so heavy that they go through several men without stopping. Great at crowd control - terrible at knowing when to flee.
    • Upgrade: PURIFIED STEEL - boosts defensive armor value.
  • Lord Berrian: Lord Berrian is a man to admire. With his extreme battle prowess, he is sure to help immensely if you are worthy enough to command him. Use his abilities to shred through all the lesser men.
    • Spells/Abilities:
      • ENFORCER’S SHIELD - creates a protective barrier around Lord Berrian.
      • BATTLE CHARGE - Lord Berrian gets temporarily increased movement speed. His first hit during the spell causes extra damage.
      • STACK ATTACK - a passive spell temporarily increasing Lord Berrian's attack speed every time he deals damage.
      • GRAND SLAM - Lord Berrian slams his massive sword into the ground, creating a shockwave that deals damage and stuns enemies nearby.
  • Lord Karthor: Lord Karthor is a strange being who commands authority. With an unsatisfiable thirst for power, Lord Karthor’s ravaging seems to have no end. Being darkness incarnate is sure to crush any enemy morale .
    • Spells/Abilities:
      • LIFE DRAIN - paralyzes a target, then steals its life force back as extra HP for Karthor.
      • DARK SHROUD - Karthor enters his darkest state, becoming untargetable by enemies. This state also cleanses debuffs, increases movement speed and allows him to pass through units.
      • MELTING ARMOR - a passive spell giving all victims of Karthor's enigmatic sword decreased armor.
      • DEMONIC ROAR - With a demonic roar, Karthor terrifies nearby enemies, making them run away in fear.
  • Lady Vanya: Lady Vanya is a fierce warrior. Whether she will greet you with an arrow through your chest or a slap on the shoulder depending upon your alliance. If you can see her, consider yourself lucky, as you are not her target
    • Spells/Abilities:
      • FREEZING ARROW - freezes affected target in place for a short time.
      • FARSIGHT - a long distance shot, dealing massive damage.
      • HUNTRESS’ STAMINA - a passive spell that increases movement speed when Lady Vanya has not been in combat for a while.
      • BOUNCING STRIKE - Lady Vanya uses a special arrow that bounces between enemy units close to the target, making it possible to deal
        tremendous damage
  • Scouting Hound: A good boy that is excellent at scouting enemy troop movements and strategic buildings. With plenty of speed, he can dash across the map and avoid every combat. Man's best friend is always reliable when you need good intel.
  • Convicts: Convicts are as disposable as they come, and they serve you by blowing themselves, and anyone around them, up with their bombs. Useful when your enemy decides to huddle their troops together a little too closely.
    • Spells/Abilities:
      • LIGHT THE FUSE - Once the bomb fuse is lit, the Convict gets increased movement speed so he can get closer to the target.
    • Upgrade: PAIN RESISTANCE - reduces incoming damage by 50% after the fuse has been lit.
  • Spearmen: Spearmen enjoy impaling units - thus reducing their target’s movement speed and making hunting them easier as well. Slow down your opponents and force them to submission with Spearmen.
    • Upgrade: SPIRE SLOW - a more powerful spear throw that temporarily slows the target.
  • Workers: Notoriously bad fighters, but they build your structures and collect your resources so that you can do more important things. Keep them off the battlefield, and they’ll happily keep building and gathering for you.
