The newest chapter of the fight franchise marks a return to the series’ mature presentation and a reinvention of its classic 2D fighting mechanic. Driven by an all new graphics engine, the Fatality is back, presented in more gory detail than ever before, as well as a number of new game-play features and a deep story mode.
During Nintendo's E3 2010 Media Briefing, it announced Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword for the Wii, showed off the 3DS, and revealed Kid Icarus: Uprising as a 3DS title. Other game announcements included Donkey Kong Country Returns, Epic Mickey, GoldenEye 007, Just Dance 2, Kirby's Epic Yarn, Mario Sports Mix and Wii Party.
During EA's E3 2010 Media Briefing, it presented new coverage for Battlefield: Bad Company 2, Dead Space 2, EA Sports Active 2, EA Sports MMA, Madden 2011, Medal of Honor and Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit.
