Sony Computer Entertainment America pops the cork on its ninth anniversary of the PS2, making its debut on October 26, 2000. Last month, Bethesda filed suit against Interplay for their inability to move forward with the Fallout MMO, making digital distribution deals with GOG and Steam for its back catalog and repackaging products that have not been approved by Bethesda. It seems the preliminary injunction has been denied for various reasons, one being the complex language of the contract (e.g., the MMO required a $30M budget, but does not require Interplay to have spent it all).

Set atop the smoldering ruins of a fictional United States torn apart by civil war, Shattered Union is an action-packed strategy game where you will play through an exciting single player campaign to reunite the country by force, or online in one-on-one matches. Variety reports that Jerry Bruckheimer is working on an adaptation of 2K Games' 2005 PC game, with J. Michael Straczynski, known for Clint Eastwood's Changeling and currently working on a Silver Surfer, is writing the script with Mike Stenson and Chad Oman as exec producers.

As Luis Lopez, part-time hoodlum and full-time assistant to legendary nightclub impresario Tony Prince (aka "Gay Tony"), players will struggle with the competing loyalties of family and friends, and with the uncertainty about who is real and who is fake in a world in which everyone has a price. To commemorate the launch, Xbox Live multiplayer will be free all weekend for people playing GTAIV, The Lost and Damned, and The Ballad of Gay Tony.

Following the story of the previous game, A Twist of Fate is also very much an independent adventure, allowing those that have never played a Runaway game before to fully enjoy this brand new experience. Also, for the very first time in the series, the game will allow you to control Brian as well as Gina who has an important part to play in the story.

For years now THQ and JAKKS Pacific have been in the process of arbitrating the royalty rate to be paid by THQ to JAKKS Pacific for WWE video game sales, which was recently settled. In July we reported that THQ had yet to renew the WWE license, even filing lawsuit against JAKKS over it, and it has just been given an extension to make a decision whether it will pick up the WWE name through December 31, 2014.

Dutch publisher Iceberg Interactive and Russian based Noviy Disk have signed a mutual publishing agreement for the release of several exiting PC titles, including the upcoming port of Ninja Blade.
