D3Publisher of America's Puzzle Quest: Galactrix, developed by Infinite Interactive, incorporates a powerful blend of casual and hardcore gameplay elements, similar to Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords, into an all-new futuristic, science-fiction setting.

Real Heroes: Firefighter puts players in the soon-to-be soot-stained boots of a rookie firefighter who has just been assigned to a busy metropolitan fire station. Players will undergo a “baptism of fire” in an escalating array of emergency situations. Originally slated for Q1, Real Heroes is now scheduled for Q2 2009.

Ubisoft's Q3 2008-09 financial results are better than expected, up 13% compared to last year, mainly due to Far Cry 2 (2.9 million units) and Rayman Raving Rabbids TV Party (1.5 mill.) and its casual lineup, which offset the slower take-off for Prince of Persia (2.2 mill. units). In Dec. 2008, Sony announced that it would lay off 16,000 employees, cut back on investments, close several of its manufacturing plants, and pull out of businesses as it is looking to cut $1.1 billion.
