The Obsidian Entertainment, Knights of the Old Republic 2, jobs page reveals that it has licensed the Unreal Engine 3 for one of its next projects as there are various modeler/texture openings for people to work with Epic's newest engine (thanks Beyond Unreal).

'Yu-Gi-Oh! Online' Launches Today

Konami announced today a full-scale online service to launch simultaneously in Japan, the US and across Europe. Yu-Gi-Oh! Online features all the cards and rules of the popular trading card game, and allows players to compete and trade cards via a simple point'n'click interface. To facilitate online play, Konami has introduced a novel charge-based 'DUELPASS' system, which will be sold in stores worldwide.

'SSX4 ' (PSP/PS2) Revealed

The newest issue of GameInformer has the first details from EA's latest skiing/snowboarding game SSX4. In previous titles players never really for the sense they were going as fast as they were, so the new title will put the emphasis on speed. A unique set of animations, grabs, wipeouts and landings are being implemented, as well as the ability to initiate specific Monster tricks. More detailed information will follow shortly, and EA will surely include SSX4 in its E3 lineup.

One hundred years have passed since the evil Sorcerer Zarok was defeated at the Battle of Gallowmere, heroically cut down by a mortally wounded Sir Daniel Fortesque. Or at least, that's what the people were told; in fact poor Sir Dan was a bit of a coward, falling in the very first wave of arrows. Now Zarok has returned, turning day into night, and raising an undead army to conquer the land. As a side effect Dan has also been resurrected... now, he has the chance to defeat Zarok and in death become the hero he never was in life.

Autumn Moon Entertainment announced that the company has terminated its relationship with Bad Brain Entertainment, a new entrant in the video game publishing business based in Germany. AME is currently working on its launch title, A Vampyre Story. AME is composed of former Lucas Arts employees and committed to reviving the adventure genre of game for which Lucas was once known (thanks Blues).

Digital Jesters, founded by ex-CDV members in 2003, announced that it has reached an agreement with Take-Two to distribute PC games in North America. The games that are part of the agreement will be the first titles Digital Jesters has published in the U.S. Since Digital Jesters is self-publishing Bet on Soldier in North America, we can assume it will be part of the agreement.

Jak X takes place after the events in Jak III and you are in a desperate race to save the world from poisoning, the only way to obtain the cure is by racing the Krew.You will have to complete various types of races such as time trial, deathmatch, time box and so forth, all set in a free and non-linear GTA type environment. You will be able to equip your ride with a variety of missiles, short and long-range guns, mines, turbo boosts, repair kits and so forth. This time around, there will be split-screen multiplayer and the word on the street is, full online multiplayer.

A community update on the official BFME website reveals that the new v1.02 patch has been delayed until late April due to some new technical issues encountered when working on adressing other fixes. "After implementing all of the balance changes, technical fixes, the “code matrix” (as I like to refer to as the inner-workings of the game) started producing some ugly errors. 'Godfather' Director Not Happy With Video Game Adaptation

Fox News is reporting that Godfather director Francis Ford Coppola is not happy with Paramount and EA regarding the upcoming video game based on his Mafia trilogy. In an interview that will air coming Sunday 11 AM EDT on AMC's 'Sunday Morning ShootOut, Coppola says "I had absolutely nothing to do with the game and I disapprove, I think it's a misuse of film." Coppola does not like the way the characters are being portrayed and the game ends up being nothing but a shootout. To top it all off Coppola claims he never gave, nor was asked, permission to make a video game out of the movie(thanks VE3D.com).

Terror returns once again with Project Zero 3, the third installment in Tecmo's popular survival horror title, Project Zero. While no release dates have been announced yet for Europe or North America, it will debut in Japan this summer. In PZ3 (or Fatal Frame 3) you play as Rei Kurosawa, but you will also encounter Miku Hinasaki and Kei Amakura from the previous two titles, and they will also be playable somewhere down the line.
