October 2nd–7th sees London come alive with a festival celebrating the very best in contemporary video games. Throughout the week there will be a series of public and industry events showcasing some of the hottest games, consoles, topics and people helping to shape the fastest growing entertainment industry.

Lexicon Entertainment today announced it has acquired the worldwide rights for Chronos Twins, a sidescrolling action game that plays on the concept of time travel in a reassuringly unique manner as it is interwoven as a main game play element.

JoWooD Productions continues its successful cooperation with the German developer Piranha Bytes by publishing one of the most spectacular titles of the coming year: Gothic III, the third part of the legendary RPG saga.

Midway's Austin studio revealed through job listings that it is currently working on two next-gen platform titles. Area 52, described as "the sequel of a best selling first person shooter," is most likely a successor for Area 51, and scheduled for PS3, X360 and PC. The second project is even more ambiguous, only titled Criminal, which is under development for both PS3 and Xbox 360.

The Settlers II: The Next Generation is the remake of BlueByte's 2D classic Settlers 2, making the jump to 3D.
