Glennis McClellan, who was responsible for the art direction and design of girl-targeted titles for Disney's Buena Vista Games division, has left the company to join start-up publisher Republik Games, Inc. as head of production. The new company is at work on its first title: a female-centric, sexually-themed multiplayer dating game and community called Spend the Night.

'Sacred II' To Feature AGEIA PhysX

AGEIA today announced that German game developer ASCARON will support the AGEIA PhysX processor in the sequel to its World Wide hit Sacred as well as future game titles. Based on a license agreement with AGEIA, ASCARON will use the AGEIA PhysX SDK to incorporate extensive real-time physics into its games, which players can experience with exceptional depth on PCs equipped with the AGEIA PhysX processor.

Lionhead announced todya that Black & White 2 has gone gold, and will be available in stores October 7. The sequel includes new elements, such as improved graphics and Miracle effects such as rivers of fire and earthquakes that yield mass destruction. The game also includes weather systems that impact gameplay; players will see the impact of a drought that scorches the arid plains of Egypt or the effect of a heavy snowfall on the Norse Mountains.
