A group of leading game industry creatives announced the launch of Globex Studios LA, a subsidiary of Globex Studios, founded by key personnel formerly of Pandemic Studios, will be a driving force in producing high-quality, direct-to-consumer games for the international marketplace.

2K Sports has signed Vancouver Canucks' Ryan Kesler to be featured as the cover athlete and spokesman for their upcoming video game, NHL 2K11. Kesler captured the collective attention of sports fans around the world with his gritty 2010 Winter Olympics performance, and will now look to bring the same electrifying play to NHL 2K11.

Finalized our GDC appointments for this week, and I've kept it rather light since the conference is mainly about new technology, which is not our focus here. There are quite a few interesting titles to be shown, so keep your eyes out for a variety of interviews, previews and regular assets. Coverage might be a bit spotty as we'll be shuttling back & forth between locations, but we'll do our best to keep the news flowing ....

Isaac Clarke returns for another heart-pounding adventure, taking the fight to the Necromorphs in this thrilling action-horror experience using gruesome new tools, empowering him as he meets new characters, explores Zero-G environments, and fights against a relentless necromorph onslaught. EA kicked off a contest that allows fans to a creative kill that will get added to the game if selected.

KOEI's new game is based on one of the most widely-recognized manga and anime series of all time, "Hokuto no Ken" or "Fist of the North Star." Hokuto Musou takes place in the manga's post-apocalyptic world where the remaining survivors of a nuclear holocaust roam the wasteland in an ongoing struggle against marauding tribes for food and water.
