Citing multiple sources, Variety claims that film financier Legendary Pictures is in negotiations to acquire Gears of War developer Epic Games, which would make it the first of its kind to get into video games. It is no stranger to the medium, though, as Legendary CEO Thomas Tull was, up until recently, on the board of Brash Entertainment, but resigned a few weeks ago because of the publisher's disappointing performance. Legendary Pictures is known for co-producing 300 and The Dark Knight, and is, interestingly enough, also involved in the Gears of War movie adaptation, as well as a World of Warcraft movie.

Set in WW2, Velvet Assassin is a 3rd person shooter combining intense battles with guerrilla missions, featuring extensive stealth elements and challenging puzzles. Citing engine compatibility issues, Gamecock confirmed the PS3 edition has been canned.

Rockstar's open-ended crime series returns the franchise to New York with Grand Theft Auto IV, situated around the mysterious protagonist Nikolai. There is a virus sweeping through Grand Theft Auto IV turning many unsuspecting players into Zombies.

Namco Bandai's Tales of Hearts is a new 2D installment in the Tales franchise adding an Emotional Gauge to the battle system, which allows the player to perform special attacks based on the characters emotions. Currently only scheduled for release in Japan, in 2 versions, same game, but with either CG or anime style cut scenes.

Sony has rolled out new PlayStation Store content starting with Penny Arcade Adventures Ep. 1 ($14.99), Prince of Persia Classic ($9.99), DLCs for BUZZ! Quiz TV ($5.99), High Velocity Bowling ($0.99), Soul Calibur IV Yoda ($4.99), Mega Man 9 ($0.99), Civilization Revolution ($1.25), tracks for Guitar Hero World Tour and Rock Band, as well as demos for Valkyria Chronicles and LEGO Batman. Age of Empires: Mythologies allows players to strategize as legendary heroes, commanding massive armies and shaping the destinies of three unique cultures in both single and multi-player campaigns.

Fallout 3 places a player in the role of a Vault-dweller, who ventures from his secluded, underground survival Vault into a post-apocalyptic world of mutants, radiation, gangs and violence. In a recent interview Bethesda's Todd Howard reveals that the next installment will not take as long as the 10 year Fallout 3 wait, and projects Fallout 4 could hit in about three years, by 2011.
