Microsoft had its Achievements since the X360's launch, and Sony has been playing catch-up ever since, giving developers the possibility of adding Trophies, but only recently are they getting implemented in PS3 titles. That is all about to change, as SCEA confirmed rumors from earlier today that starting Jan. 1, 2009, games submitted for certification will require Trophies.

Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix will make its downloadable debut on the XBLA and PSN by utilizing the original game code, while creating a fresh upgraded experience with new artwork and high resolution 1080p graphics.

Sony has rolled out new PlayStation Store content starting with LittleBigPlanet costumes (free/$2.99), BioShock PS3 Challenge Rooms ($9.99), a dozen or so Dead Space packs ($2.99/$3.99), song packs for Guitar Hero World Tour, Karaoke Revolution Presents: American Idol Encore 2 and Rock Band, a MotoGP 08 Demo, and the usual game/movie trailers and PS3 themes.

Canadian indie developer A2M has acquired Chile based Wanako Games from Activision Blizzard. Known for Xbox Live Arcade such as Assault Heroes and 3D Ultra Mini Golf Adventures, Wanako Games was acquired by Sierra back in 2007 but was put up for sale after Vivendi merged with Activision earlier this year, and is currently working on 3D Ultra Mini Golf 2.
