Recently Bethesda's parent company ZeniMax Media has not only received a $300 million investment, but it has also hired Mythic co-founder Matt Firor to head a new online division. Put that together with the just revealed fact that it has registered ELDERSCROLLSONLINE.COM, and all signs indicate that an MMORPG version of The Elder Scrolls might be in development.

EA is introducing a new Need for Speed version that drives the series in a new direction. Need for Speed ProStreet is a ground-breaking Need for Speed experience where you’re thrust to compete head to head against the best street racers in a multitude of racing showdowns. GameTap announced that the season finale for its multiplayer online game Myst Online: Uru Live will launch today, allowing you to explore new areas of Uru, including the new Age of Ahnonay, K’veer Island and Myst Island.

While it may not be another Hot Coffee incident, Rockstar has managed to work itself into the spotlight again. After the ratings soap opera, Take Two finally got the green light to release a modified version of its action game Manhunt 2, but it seems savvy hackers managed to unlock some of the banned content, even though it requires a modified PSP unit.

In addition to a new campaign that ties up the Dread Lords saga, GalCiv II: Twilight of the Arnor adds civilization-specific technology trees and planetary improvements that add even more flavor to each alien race, while greatly expanding the strategic depth of the game.

In PES8, player detail has been taken to incredible levels with full facial animation and high-def to show full movement and subtle details to the various kits during the course of a match. All "next-gen" versions will also benefit from an extensive Edit mode, allowing gamers to customize their PES experience.

SEGA is developing the video game adaptation of the theatrical movie release, The Golden Compass, based on the first book in the award-winning His Dark Materials trilogy, by British author Philip Pullman.

EA released its latest financial results, revealing a loss of $195M, compared to last year's profit of $22M. As a result, EA's board approved a reorganization in order to save $25-30M, which unfortunately means layoffs and branch closures, such as its UK office in Chertsey. At the request of EA Mythic's Mark Jacobs, Warhammer Online is facing yet another delay from its original Q1 2008 date. It's been pushed to Q2 2008 (not before April), but EA execs are still excited about the coming holidays and even raised their expectations with heavy hitters such as Crysis, Hellgate: London and RockBand.
