Despite Slowdown THQ Exceeds Expectations, Cancels 'The Sopranos' on X360

For the first quarter of fiscal 2007, THQ reported net sales of $138.8 million, exceeding expectations of $125.0 million, primarily due to better-than-anticipated sales of Pixar's Cars and MotoGP 2006 videogames. In the subsequent conference call however, THQ confirmed that it has cancelled the Xbox 360 version of The Sopranos.

Activision No Longer Holds 'Iron Man' License

When Activision signed its license agreement with Marvel, it included rights for Spider-Man, X-Men, Fantastic Four and Iron Man through 2009. While the first three franchises all received games, Iron Man was the only one holding out, until the recent announcement of the movie. News has been rather quiet on that front, and according to Gamespot, the reason is because Activision simply no longer holds the rights to it, effectively cancelling any game they had in development.
