THQ released its financial results for Q3 2009 revealing net sales of $357.3 million, compared to last year's $509.6 mill., and a net loss of $191.8 mill., compared to $15.5 million net income the year before. Sales were driven by Saints Row 2 (2.6 mill. units), WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2009 (4 mill. units), de Blob (700k units) and Big Beach Sports (1.2 mill. units). However, due to lower-than-expected sales, THQ will further reduce spending through studio dispositions, project and 24% headcount reductions.

EA's Q3 2008 financial results reveal a slight increase in revenue, but higher than expected expenses and losses on investments resulted in a $641 million net loss, compared to 2007's $33 million.
