Ninja Gaiden II developer Tomonobu Itagaki, also know for the Dead or Alive series, has decided to leave Tecmo and pursue other opportunities. On his way out Itagaki has filed lawsuit against Tecmo for unpaid completion bonuses, unreasonable and disingenuous statements, claiming damages in total of 148 million yen.

With Guitar Hero: Aerosmith due out in a matter of weeks, and later this year Guitar Hero: World Tour, Activision is planning even further ahead. Wedbush Morgan Securities analyst Edward Woo sifted through the game section of Activision's latest SEC filing and revealed that the soon-merging publisher is planning to release Guitar Hero: Metallica in Q1 of 2009. No further details were available, except a confirmation of that the next James Bond title will carry the same name as the movie, Quantum of Solace.

Microsoft will re-release a 2-disc retail version of Gears of War, which will include previously released multiplayer map packs, the Annex game mode, the ability to earn up to eight additional multiplayer Achievements worth 250 Gamerscore, and a taste of Gears of War 2 through trailers and other extras. On June 4, Gears of War will be offered at the new estimated retail price of $39.99 (X360) and $29.99 (PC).

While there has yet to be an official announcement, Capcom is working on a third installment in the Mega Man Star Force series for the NDS. No details were revealed, but Capcom launched

Red Alert 3 takes players on an epic RTS adventure to an alternate future spawned by time travel run amok, featuring a fully co-operative campaign, the series' light-hearted style and classic, action-oriented gameplay. Valve announced that its digital delivery service Steam is getting a big upgrade in the near future. Currently it allows you to access your games from any computer but with Steam Cloud you will also be able to store & retrieve game data such as save games, keyboard configurations, game settings, and eventually even screens and movies, unlimited & free. Steam Cloud will first come to the Half-Life titles, CounterStrike, Team Fortress 2, as well as the upcoming Left 4 Dead, and eventually become part of Steamworks. Other features will be driver updates, calendar, system spec checker, events, localized pricing, etc..
