Treasure Island is an 3D adventure game based on the classic bestseller novel by Robert Louis Stevenson, situated 4 years after its conclusion. The game combines traditional Point & Click controls and gameplay with breathtaking realtime 3D graphics and SFX.

EA Casual announces its initial slate of Hasbro games in development, starting with Wii and DS titles that will be available this fall are Littlest Pet Shop, and Nerf N-Strike. Also in the works are new Monopoly and Scrabble titles for multiple platforms, as well as other titles that will be announced later this year.

Dragon Quest Swords: The Masked Queen and the Tower of Mirrors is an action-packed Virtual Experience where the player becomes the hero of the story using the Wiimote to control their legendary sword, and fight off horde after horde of monsters. Blizzard mentioned titles like Warcraft Adventures, some fantasy title called Raiko, Nomad featuring two giant zeppelin airships, Games People Play, Crixa, Shattered Nations, Pax Imperia and Denizen (thanks Firingsquad).

Silverfall is a fantasy RPG set in a world of magic, machines & mayhem, the choices you make during the game take you along the path of nature or technology. The Earth Awakening addon features an updated engine with improved gfx/performance, 2 new races, over 50 new pieces of armor, 42 new weapons, 20 new maps, and optimized multiplayer.

Activision's conf. call revealed quite a few new titles in the works, most scheduled for fiscal 2009 (anywhere from April 2008 - March 2009). New titles in franchises such as: Spider-Man, Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, Call of Duty, a makeover for the Tony Hawk franchise, the eagerly awaited James Bond (using an updated Call of Duty 4 engine) and titles based on Dreamworks movies Kung Fu Panda and Madagascar II. Giving credence to yesterday's Guitar Hero IV rumor, Activision confirmed two new Guitar Hero titles are in development, but declined to give details.

Theatre of War depicts authentic battles of World War II between 1939-1945. Command hundreds of different unit types in 5 historically accurate campaigns (US, UK, Soviet, German, French and Polish). This demo features a new, advanced line-of-sight system, radically improved performance and enhanced AI behavior. There is an all-new playable battle taken from the new German Panzer Lehr campaign in addition to five playable tutorial missions.

Activision announced that it had record net revenues of $1.48 billion and net income of $272.2 million for fiscal Q3, respective increases of 80% and 90% over the same period last year, far exceeding their expected revenue of $1.23 billion. This success was driven by strong sales of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Guitar Hero II, Guitar Hero III, Shrek The Third, Spider-Man 3 and Transformers: The Game. Activision has increased its fiscal outlook to net revenues of $350 million for Q4 and $2.65 billion for the 2008 fiscal year.

Video game publisher Mastiff announced today that it has acquired the Major League Eating (MLE) license. Major League Eating: The Game features the world's greatest gurgitory athletes competing across 12 different food types, and it will be built much like a fighting game.

While there has yet to be an official announcement, or any details whatsoever for that matter, Spellforce developer Phenomic has been rather quiet since it was acquired by EA last year. However that does not mean the German studio has been sleeping on the job as a new project "Battleforge" has been revealed. So far only a "coming soon" teaser page is made available so further details are expected shortly. Speculating on the type of logo/art work, it looks like another title in the RTS/RPG hybrid genre.

Opoona is a "lifestyle RPG," where you, as Opoona, descendant of brave warriors, known as Cosmo Guards, must adapt to a new environment, meet new people, get a job, all while becoming aware of the precious world and people surrounding him. Late January at the Marché international de l'édition musicale trade fair, Activision selected 20 tracks, out of 200 submissions, to be featured on Guitar Hero IV. Music label Albert Productions' UK boss James Cassidy was so excited he issued a press release spilling the beans that British band The Answer's 'Never Too Late' was selected as one of the titles for the next Guitar Hero installment, "This is a tremendous honour and privilege for both The Answer and the Alberts label. THQ announced results for fiscal Q3 2008, with net sales of $509.6 million, compared to last year's $475.7 million, driven by Cars: Mater-National, MX vs. ATV Untamed and SmackDown vs. Raw 2008. In the subsequent investors conference call, THQ CEO Brian Farrell revealed that Red Faction III is being developed by Volition for PS3, X360 and PC. Scheduled for fiscal 2009 (Apr. 2008 - Mar. 2009), RF3 will focus on interactive environments and destruction. First details on THQ's UFC-licensed title are expected during a pay-per-view event on Memorial Day weekend.

Konami confirmed that Metal Gear Solid: the Essential Collection is currently planned for the PS2, which includes the original Metal Gear Solid, the director's cut of MGS2 and MGS 3 in a commemorative package with artwork by renowned artist Yoji Shinkawa.

Guitar Rising is a music video game where the player plays a real guitar as cued by the game’s visuals. Following rock music sequences and streaming notes, players play guitar melodies and rhythms. Beginner difficulty levels are designed for non-guitar players and hard difficulties will challenge experienced guitarists. Scheduled for released in late 2008, we will be checking out Guitar Rising at GDC in a few weeks...

Pendulo Studios is working on a follow-up to last year's hit title Runaway: A Road Adventure, an adventure game with 3D characters with a cartoon look and high-impact visual features that include 2D and 3D in an unmatchable style. Soon making its debut on the NDS, it seems South Peak Interactive is bringing Pendulo's adventure game to the Wii.
