At a press conference during the Dragon Quest 20th anniversary event in Japan, Square Enix announced that it will release DragonQuest IX on the NDS. Developed by Level 5, Dragon Quest IX: Defender of the Stars is the first title on any Nintendo system since Dragon Quest VI, 10 years ago. Featuring WiFi support for four players in co-op, DQ IX is currently scheduled for released mid-2007 in Japan.

Tiberium, a self-replicating alien substance that has infected the Earth, is spreading like a radioactive ice age. The GDI is fighting to contain Tiberium, but The Brotherhood of NOD has other plans for Earth. Earlier EA hinted at a 3rd race, which has now been identified as an Alien species, attacking Earth to take their part of the Tiberium. You'll be able to command the new race halfway through the campaign mode, although shorter than the other 2 sides (15 missions, compared to 35 for the GDI/NOD).

The latest issue of PCGamer contains a Q&A on the newest C&C title, giving details on previously undisclosed feature, Match Broadcast. Undoubtably aimed at competition/league gaming, Match Broadcast will allow player to stream on going gaming sessions over the web, even allowing people who do not have the game to watch via a standalone client. It also allows a moderator to comment through VOIP, shift specators camera angle, and even highlight certain aspects of the love match, as if it were a teleprompt presentation.

EAGames is working on a remake of Bullfrog's old classic Theme Park for the NDS, currently only scheduled for Japan in March 2007. While details are slim, the new screens clearly show the stylus and tactical screen being used to build your amusement park and menu navigation. Since the text is in English, it's safe to assume the game will be coming overseas.
