Metal Gear Online is a dedicated online game featuring characters, weaponry and levels taken from and inspired by Metal Gear Solid 4, allowing up to 16 people to play simultaneously. Rumored for a few weeks now, EA, Harmonix and MTV Games announced AC/DC Live: Rock Band Track Pack, the first standalone spinoff title for Rock Band partly to promote AC/DC's upcoming album Black Ice. Scheduled for release coming November ($30) the track pack includes 18 tracks from AC/DC's Live at Donington concert and will be sold exclusively through Wal-Mart.

A
leaked Blockbuster memo reveals that it will be dropping the price of the discontinued 40GB PS3 model from $360 to $299. The 40GB model has been replaced by an $500 80GB version, which lacks two USB ports and backward compatibility with PS2 titles, but that model is also getting replaced later this year by a higher end version with a 160GB HD. SCEA has stated in the past that it would not drop the price of the PS3, so this is probably just a move to clear the old stock.

Microsoft's Xbox 360
continues its momentum in Japan and for the second week in a row outsells Sony's PS3. While the NDS remains king, the
Wii regains the lead amongst the current gen consoles with 29,921 units sold, while the X360 outpaced the PS3 with 13,777 vs. 8,156 console. The recent price drop and the one-two punch with Infinite Undiscovery and Tales of Vesperia are surely the cause of the sales surge.
