Multiple online sources seems to have confirmed what might be an early list of additional titles for Nintendo's next gen Wii console. According to the release schedule sent to North American retail stores, Ubisoft is preparing no less than 5 titles, in addition to the already announced Red Steel and Rayman games. Blazing Angels, GT (racing title), Monster Trucks (more racing), Prince of Persia and Far Cry. These titles are pegged as Wii launch window titles, meaning they will not be available at launch but shortly thereafter. To be taken with a grain of salt, but if true, very exciting ...

At a press conference in Tokyo, Nintendo revealed the development of the Wii exclusive Pokémon Battle Revolution, which will use its wireless connection to interact with its NDS brethren Pokémon Diamond & Pearl, both scheduled for fall of this year. This will open various options such as playing NDS games on the TV, and using the NDS tactical screen for your Wii games. Pokémon Battle Revolution will allow you to see your NDS Pokemons battle in 3D on the Wii. While a release date was not announced, it was hinted at for end of the year in Japan.

This is to be taken with a grain of salt, but indications are that during a Nintendo press conference, Senior Managing Director Yoshihiro Mori announced the Wii will launch October 24th, 2006, and will cost 25,000 Yen, which is the equivalent of $225. No specifics were given as to whether this date is for Japan only, or whether it will be a global launch, but Nintendo plans to have 6 million units available between October and March 2007. Several retail sources indicated listings have Wii titles pegged for October release.

Today Capcom confirmed that it is working on an all new, Wii exclusive, Resident Evil game combining the series' intense gaming experience and atmosphere with the revolutionary control system of the Wii.
