Shinobi for 3DS puts players in the shoes of Jiro Musashi, the father of Joe Musashi from the original 1989 release, offering a glimpse into Musashi family history.
Shinobi tells the story of Jiro Musashi, the leader of the Oboro clan and father of Joe Musashi, the hero of the first iterations of Shinobi. Players become a ninja legend by mastering a new combo system that switches between melee, ranged and acrobatic attacks. They also rely on Jiro's ninja magic to get an advantage over enemies and get out of tight spots.

Spike and Acquire are bringing Shinobi to the PSP, scheduled for release in Japan end of October. Based on the PS2 version, Shinobi features singleplayer, with 30 playable characters, as well as 4 player Versus multiplayer with 20 playable skins. The Mission Play Mode will allow you to connect to the PS2 and import missions made through the game editor.

From Software is bringing the Tenchu franchise to the PSP. Schedule for a July 28 release date in Japan, Tenchu: Shinobi Taizen is situated shortly after Tenchu 3 and revolves around the series' hero and heroine, Rikimaru and Ayame. Both characters will have their own missions in scenario mode, and there will be multiplayer head-to-head through PSP's Wi-Fi or USB connections. Tenchu: Shinobi Taizen will also include an editor to make your own missions, buildings and place enemies, all saveable on a Memory Stick Duo.

Mindfire Entertainment has added another video game to its lineup of feature film projects. The company has secured the rights to Sega's ninja video game franchise "Shinobi."
