In an
interview with C&VG, Valve's Doug Lombardi confirmed that the next chapter in the episodic FPS series, Half-Life 2: Episode 2 is suffering a further delay and will not get released early 2007, but is now scheduled for release in summer 2007. Assumingly the pushing back has to do with extra time needed to polish the game, considering it comes with Portal and Team Fortress 2.

In an interview with EuroGamer, Valve's Doug Lombardi confirmed earlier rumors that the next chapter in the episodic FPS series, Half-Life 2: Episode 2, will not get released before the year's end as previously announced, but is now scheduled for release in February 2007. The pricing has also changed a bit; Episode 2 will now set you back $19.95, which is still a great value, considering it comes with Portal and Team Fortress 2.

Valve has announced that they are working around the clock to get all of the pieces of Episode Two ready to show at the Leipzig Games Convention. Valve will be not only be showing off Episode Two, but also Team Fortress 2, and Portal. Valve unveiled Team Fortress 2 and Portal, two new games to be included in its next release, Half-Life 2: Episode Two. In addition, the studio announced its plans to deliver these products, plus enhanced versions of Half-Life 2 and Episode One, in one tremendous package for the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.

Valve's Gabe Newell not only shocked the press at the EA press event earlier today with the
TF2 announcement, but also the fact that Half-Life 2 was coming to the X360 and PS3. Expected to be released at the same time as Half-Life 2 Ep2 on PC, the console version will include the original game, as well as the two first episodes, but not Portal or TF2. No footage or further details were given, but Gabe promised there will be more info in the months to come.

Earlier today EA held its Studio Showcase 06 where it presented its lineup for the rest of the year and beyond. Valve's Gabe Newell blew our socks off with the announcement that TF2 will be included as multiplayer portion with Episode 2, and even a full singleplayer game called Portal.

SteamPowered website has been updated with details on a new Half-Life 2: Deathmatch patch adding a player "ready" command, objects no longer hide tripwire slams, it explodes, and scores no longer get updated after the round is over, fixing the case where a player is standing next to a grenade or flaming barrel when the round ends. Just restart Steam for the effects to take place.

The newest issue of PC Gamer has plenty of new details on the second downloadable episode for Half-Life 2. SteamPowered website has been updated with details on a small patch for its just released Half-Life 2: Episode One and Topware's Earth 2160. While the latter merely fixes the game incorrectly prompting for a CD key entry, the HL2: Ep. One part fixes some corrupted closed caption lines and addresses a bug in gameplay stats reporting. Just restart Steam for the effects to take place.

Valve that announced Half-Life 2: Episode One debuted at #1 on retail PC game charts across Europe, including the dominate markets of Germany, UK and France. Episode One, released at retail outlets and via Steam on June 1st, is the first in a trilogy of episodes that will conclude by Christmas of 2007.
