Heroes of Might & Magic V: Tribes of the East is the 2nd standalone expansion for Ubisoft's turn-based strategy game where players take part in a thrilling new adventure in the World of Ashan. New campaign, new units, buildings, weapons, as well as 10 new multi- and 5 single-player maps. Ubisoft will be releasing a playable demo on Thursday, which we will of course have on our fileserver network.

Clive Barker's Jericho is a squad-based horror FPS devised by the master mythmaker, novelist and filmmaker Clive Barker. The Jericho Team is a seven-man strike force that protects government interests from paranormal threats. Codemasters confirmed that the Jericho PC demo (1GB) will arrive Wednesday, which will of course be available on our fileserver network, while the X360/PS3 versions will appear Thursday.

Feel the unmatched speed and intensity of the real-life sport with an authentic physics engine and intuitive gameplay that mimics the exhilarating experience found in international competition. The Wii edition will not include the Xbox 360 multiplayer portion, instead "focusing on making it the most advanced control system on the Wii." Say what?

The epic saga continues with Halo 3, as Master Chief returns to finish the fight, bringing the epic conflict between the Covenant, the Flood, and the entire human race to a dramatic, pulse-pounding climax. At midnight the floodgates open for the masses to get their copy, and Goldman Sachs analysts predict an estimated 4.2 million copies of Halo 3 are currently at retail outlets, 1.5 million of which are pre-ordered.

A few weeks back SCi, Eidos' parent company, revealed that it was in preliminary talks with an interested party regarding a possible takeover, although it stressed that negotiations were very early. According to the TimesOnline, there could be more to it, as it claims not one, but three entities are looking into taking over the Lara Croft publisher: Ubisoft, Time Warner (who already owns 10%) and an unidentified Chinese company. The strong interest in the UK publisher/developer has sent its stock prices soaring 5%.

Earlier this month, people who pre-ordered The Orange Box through Steam received access to the Team Fortress 2 beta. Valve is now offering people who pre-order the game through GameStop (before Oct. 10th) a 10% discount off the regular price and access to the beta version of Team Fortress 2.

Marvelous' Project O is a new RPG/RTS titled developed by the creators of Harvest Moon, FFXII, Dragon Quest VIII etc. Set in a medieval fantasy world, the game has you play as a young boy called Corobo Bred, who after finding a magical crown in the forest becomes king of his village. It is your task to complete quests, level up, and grow your kingdom, but you can also assign specific tasks to your villagers.

Emergent Game Technologies announced that Sidhe Interactive, currently developing Jackass The Game, has chosen Gamebryo game engine as its preferred middleware solution for Wii titles and multi-platform games in development.

Sports management developer Sports Interactive and German-based OOTP Developments have announced that they are to go their separate ways, with immediate effect.

The Operational Art Of War series allows you to play and create any battle from the entire 20th Century of warfare and up to the modern day, with reasonable accuracy back as far as the 1850s. This patch brings dozens of changes and improvements.

In Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Harry returns for his fifth year of study at Hogwarts and discovers that much of the wizarding community is in denial about the teenager's recent encounter with the evil Lord Voldemort, preferring to turn a blind eye to the news that Voldemort has returned.

CoD 4: Modern Warfare is a new action-thriller that will arm gamers with the most advanced and powerful arsenal of modern day firepower to fight a new war in the world’s most treacherous hotspots. Infinity Ward community manager FourTwoZero revealed that the game has reached gold status and has been approved by Sony & Microsoft. An official announcement is expected soon.

In PES8, player detail has been taken to incredible levels with full facial animation and high-def to show full movement and subtle details to the various kits during the course of a match. All "next-gen" versions will also benefit from an extensive Edit mode, allowing gamers to customize their PES experience. Konami confirmed the PC edition of the demo is due early next week.
