Gas Powered Games' 3D RTS Supreme Commander is set to become the first RTS game to receive the amBX ‘ambient experiences’ treatment, allowing the delivery amazing light, wind, explosion and rumble effects across the huge gameplay landscape and vast array of vehicles, vessels and aircraft.

Signed by RTL Enterprises, German developer Silver Style, known for The Fall: Last Days of Gaia, keeps on trickling out screens for for its upcoming adventure game Simon the Sorcerer 4.

SEGA announced the signing of developer Gearbox Software to create a first-person shooter title based on the Alien film franchise for the next-generation systems, with license from 20th Century Fox Licensing & Merchandising. The agreement complements the recent announcement of an Alien RPG title for the next-generation systems to be developed by Obsidian Entertainment.

Perpetual's President Chris McKibbin confirmed that his company has laid off about 30 people on the development staff but points out that its MMO Gods and Heroes is almost content complete, and trimming down the team to 80 people is a natural progression as content production roles come to an end. However, in order to make Gods & Heroes the best game it can be, the decision was made to push back its Q1 2007 launch date to summer 2007, so Perpetual can continue play-testing and tuning to deliver the highest quality game possible.
