Namco and Todd McFarlane Productions announced today the official name of Mammon, a character known by many "Spawn" enthusiasts for his mysterious appearances in numerous past comic book episodes. Until today, Mammon has been portrayed as a background character that appeared in dark, hidden shadows. Mammon is now slated to take on a much more proactive, even major, role in both the upcoming video game as well as in future episodes of the "Spawn" comic book series, with appearances beginning in issue 133. The video game, "Spawn: Armageddon," is scheduled to release in November 2003 on the PS2, GameCube and Xbox.

THQ today announced that Scooby-Doo! Two: Monsters Unleashed, based on the Warner Bros. Studios feature film of the same name, is in development for Game Boy Advance and PC. Scooby-Doo! Two: Monsters Unleashed is scheduled to ship in early 2004, in conjunction with the film's theatrical release.

As typical with any new game platform launch, gamers across North America created and took part in activities in celebration of the N-Gage mobile game deck's October 7 on-sale date. Flash mobs were seen yesterday in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago, and a mysterious N-Gage crop circle was discovered in Minnesota. Gamers also took to the street to perform street art and leave reminders that the N-Gage game deck would take gaming to the next level. And more festivities in celebration of the N-Gage game deck's availability are planned for the coming days.

He doesn't know who he is, what he's doing here, why he is being sought by men in black uniforms and what they will do to him when they find him… The player's goal is to find out who Chaser really is and why he is being hunted. The story leads the player from the H.M.S. Majestic to Montack City on Earth, then on to Siberia and finally to Mars, where the trail ends and hopefully the truth can be found.

iGames and S2 Games today announced that a demo for Savage: The Battle for Newerth is in the final stages of development and testing. Its public release is imminent, expected October 6th. The long awaited Real Time Strategy FPS hit the shelves September 9th and earned accolades from the media, driving the gaming community to clamor for a demo. iGames and S2 have answered the fan requests and will release a demo featuring two levels of gameplay thrusting players into the role of commander or warrior in the Human forces. Believe it or not, the XIII madness continues! Ubisoft has now released the US XIII Multiplayer demo. Players can choose between two action-packed 6-player maps for either Deathmatch or Team Deathmatch action. XIII's 15 deadly weapons are featured in the demo along with a few surprise armaments, allowing players to discover their favorite weapons before the game ships in October. A playable demo is expected in the first week of October. Universal Combat brings the greatest components of war together in a single game. Conceived in late 2001 as Battlecruiser Generations, the fifth in the Battlecruiser series, the game has grown into much more than a massive space simulation. Universal Combat is due to be distributed by Mindscape in the UK in November 2003.

It's a new trend, after update patches for full games, we're now onto updating demo's. THQ has released another updated demo for their sci-fi flying action game Yager. This v5.20 demo once again features the same missions as before but has been updated with fixes that were implemented in the recent German retail update patch, such as controller improvement, bug fixes and graphics enchancements (

As expected and announced, Ubisoft has now released the multiplayer demo for their upcoming cell shaded action/FPS game XIII. This demo includes two levels for you to play deathmatch and team deathmatch on. This is a European 'work in progress' demo, an updated U.S. version is expected next week (
