We saw Surrogates today, and while I'm a big Bruce Willis fan, I must admit that this is not his best work. It was just a weak movie with a weak story, and it was also slow on several occasions. If you insist on seeing it, wait for it to be available as a DVD rental. It's definitely not a movie that needs to be seen in the theatre.

Apart from that, we didn't do a whole lot. Watched Smallville, some more The Amazing Race, and checked out Operation Flashpoint 2, which has good graphics and may be easier to get into and has fewer bugs than its rival, Arma II.

SOE's 2003 Planetside was the first real MMOFPS, where thousands of players wage war in a battle of planetary proportions with first-person player-to-player combat and vehicular warfare across ten continents. Last month current Planetside players have received a survey from SOE asking for help with the design for a new Planetside game, and now SOE CEO John Smedley revealed that it plans to "make it a lot better. Massive battles on a scale no other FPS will touch. None of this 64 player stuff. REALLY MASSIVE. With much better organization, and a tight focus on making sure the action is always going on, with awesome graphics.'

At a recent Sony event we had a chance to talk to SCEA's director of PlayStation Network operations and strategic planning Eric Lempel, and talked about the PSPgo launch, PSP minis and general PSN plans.

Our trip to the movies to see "Surrogates" has been postponed until tomorrow, which gave us some time to watch stuff on the DVR. We caught up on Supernatural, Flashforward, Bones and The Amazing Race, which is like the old La Chasse au trésor that I used to watch when I was a kid.

Aside from the movie plans, we have nothing else on tomorrow's schedule, so we'll probably do some more watching (a few episodes of Heroes), groceries, laundry and perhaps squeeze in a few games (Republic Heroes and Operation Flashpoint).

Sin & Punishment: Star Successor is taking adrenaline-soaked adventure to inspiring new heights. By saying on a video game site that Digital Rights Management (DRM) sucks, I'm preaching to the choir. We've all heard the stories about and, in some cases, experienced StarForce, SecuROM and other schemes of various effectiveness to prevent the piracy of video games.

Ahh weekend, my favorite time of the week. Time to actually sleep and watch even more TV. We'll probably check out Bruce Willis' "Surrogates," which looks interesting.

This week and next week, quite a few big titles are shipping, and judging from all the press events marked on my calendar it's safe to say that the ramp-up to the holidays has begun, and plenty of titles are coming. Another 4 events this week. Luckily all of them are local, and no, we're not flying out to Italy to check out Assassin's Creed II.

And now for the shameless plug. It was good to hear that Vogster is taking care of business and going to release a limited free-to-play version of CrimeCraft. Love playing the game, but it sure could use some more people in it. While you can trigger PvE instances, the PvP is a big part of the game so new recruits are more than welcome. Hopefully, this will also bring down the prices in the auction house (rare items are being sold for outrageous amounts of money). You all better check it out later this month. You have no excuse not to. :)

Microsoft is expanding the downloadable portfolio with Rainbow Six Vegas 2, Grand Theft Auto IV, Army of Two, Dead Space and several others.
