Today the winners of the 27th annual Golden Joystick Awards were announced, with Fallout 3 being crowned “Ultimate Game of the Year”, whilst Call of Duty continued its annual winning streak with a hat-trick of accolades.

Machinarium is a point & click adventure where game's protagonist is a little robot who has been unjustly expelled to the scrap yard behind the city. Players must guide the little robot back into town to rescue his robot-girlfriend and stop the bad guys from the 'Black Cap Brotherhood' before they can bomb the central tower that houses the city's ruler.

Armada Music, Cloud 9 Music and Foreign Media Games are collaborating to develop Armin van Buuren: In The Mix, allowing players to experience for themselves what it is like to be a DJ like Armin, mixing electronic dance music and interacting with the audience.

Scribblenauts is a completely original gameplay experience that anyone can play, offering fun for all ages with two styles of gameplay and more than 200 levels.

For the first time ever, you can customize the makeup of your band with any combination of instruments in-game: two guitars and two drums, or three guitars and a microphone, etc. while also adding new gameplay mode.

Xevicom Unlimited, based on Ray Reid's Xevicom Forever,  is a new chapter in the exciting dystopian future Reid first portrayed in Xevicom Forever in 2005, with new stories, characters, and scenarios that add to and expand the existing narrative.

Colin McRae: DiRT 2 benefits from tuned-up car-handling physics system, a new damage engine effects, a new level of visual fidelity, with cars and tracks twice as detailed as those seen in the original, as well as a roster of off-road events, taking players to the most diverse and challenging real-world environments.

SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo 3 lets you join forces with like-minded players to tackle an adventure of realistic military action, tactics and teamwork wherever and whenever you want. Originally scheduled for Nov. 24, SCEA has pushed the release into 2010 in order to give the marketing team more time.

I know I've said it before, but wow, there sure are a lot of games coming out at the moment, and next month will be a real doozy with the likes of Dragon Age, Modern Warfare 2 and plenty of others. The ramp-up to the holiday season is always a good time to be a gamer.

One more day and it's the weekend again! Time sure flew by this week ... well, for me anyhow.

We have plans to hang out with some friends, but we also plan to check out Paranormal Activity and/or Boondock Saints II. We're especially looking forward to the latter; the sequel's been 10 years in the making, but we loved the first one, so this had better not disappoint.

Ah yes, and Friday means that it's Stargate Universe time!

Football Manager 2010 features new tools and changes across the board including some big additions to improve ease of use, navigation and feedback from the game with the introduction of a brand new match tactics system, the debut of a Match Analysis tool, a completely new look and new User Interface among other features.
