Ubisoft announced that it is has signed an exclusive agreement with Sony Online Entertainment to publish PlanetSide: Core Combat, the first expansion for the popular massively multiplayer online first-person action game, PlanetSide. PlanetSide has already attracted more than 60,000 subscribers worldwide. The expansion will focus on alien technology discovered deep in underground caverns, adding more vehicles, weapons and battlegrounds under the planet Auraxis. (SOE) today announced that PlanetSide: Core Combat, the first expansion for its popular massively multiplayer online first-person action game, PlanetSide, is available at North American retail stores and via secure digital download from SOE. Several weeks ago, Sony Online announced our future plans for PlanetSide and started on the never-ending journey of continually adding content and gameplay. The Liberator bomber and the SkyGuard anti-aircraft buggy have had a huge impact on battle conditions across Auraxis. Commanders are now able to rain destruction on their enemies through the Orbital Strike and EMP Blast. Medics are now able to locate soldiers that need their help easier. a free seven day trial of SOE's massively multiplayer first person shooter PlanetSide. The download is 1.5gig large, so it might actually take you 7 days to get it as well. Ubi Soft Entertainment, one of the world's leading video game publishers, today announced an exclusive agreement with Sony Online Entertainment to publish the eagerly awaited PlanetSide in Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Quebec and Japan. Currently in development, the game is the first massively multiplayer online action game that allows literally thousands of gamers to play at the same time. Its global release on PC CD-ROM is scheduled for the week debuting May 19, 2003, with the UK release date scheduled for May 23, 2003. Sony are once again accepting applications for the PlanetSide
Public Beta Test. Those of you who have already submitted beta applications will not need to re-apply. PlanetSide is a Massively Multiplayer Online First-Person Shooter involving thousands of players fulfilling all the roles needed to wage war across the face of ten gigantic continents. The war will involve infantry, ground vehicles, and air battles in a science-fiction setting.
