Turtle Rock Studios and Valve's forthcoming Source Engine powered survival co-op game Left 4 Dead will be shown at QuakeCon 2007 in Dallas, Texas August 2-5. Much earlier than the 2006 edition, QuakeCon 2007 has already been scheduled for August 2-5, 2007 at the Hilton Anatole Hotel in Dallas, TX, with more gaming, events, exhibits and fun than ever before. QuakeCon 2006 has offiically been announced. First-come, first-served online registration for the BYOC area will kick off at 9 p.m. EST on Wednesday, June 28th, 2006, and the event itself is scheduled for August 3 – 6 in Dallas, TX at the Hilton Anatole Hotel in their Trinity Exhibition Center.

While no specific dates have been announced yet, the organizer announced that despite a few hiccups the event is still on track. "this is to let everyone know that QuakeCon 2006 has NOT been cancelled. We've had a number of issues securing a venue and dates that suit the needs of the event, the attendees, and the staff. This has taken many turns and longer than expected, but we are working very hard to get everything wrapped up and announced very soon."

id Software and Activision announced today that QUAKE 4 multiplayer will be unveiled at the 10th Annual QuakeCon, held at the Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center in Grapevine, Texas from August 11-14. In addition, QuakeCon 2005 will also play host to the first showing of DOOM 3: Resurrection of Evil for the Xbox.

At a midnight
DOOM 3 launch event in Dallas Texas, id Software's Hollenshead gave QuakeCon visitors a nice surprise by revealing that "We'll have Quake IV multiplayer to play. And because it's also the 10-year anniversary of QuakeCon, we'll have a few other surprises as well." On top of that it was also confirmed that the new IP id is working on will be yet another FPS. Whether the DOOM 3 expansion pack will make an appearance on the Xbox, remains yet to be seen, but it is being considered and tested. Now that id has made its first step into the console market, Hollenshead also gave a glimpse of the future : "I don't know if we'll be releasing multiple SKUs at the same time, but as for PS3 and Xbox 2 and so on, yes, we will continue our development effort on the consoles."

CNN/Money's latest editorial on companies focussing more and more on harccore gamers, Chris Morris revealed that iD Software will NOT be showing off Quake IV at this year's annual QuakeCon.
