Digital Leisure announced today the upcoming release of a remastered version of the American Laser Games' smash arcade hit Mad Dog 2: The Lost Gold. Digital Leisure, the leading publisher of interactive DVD adventures, has re-mastered Mad Dog 2 into a fully interactive adventure for DVD movie players that is also compatible with PlayStation 2 and Xbox platforms. Players use their DVD remote controls to aim and fire, as they race against the notorious outlaw and his gang of henchmen to the lost Spanish treasure.

Jester Interactive has teamed up with Perfecto Records for their forthcoming product Music 3. Jester will have access to the whole of Perfecto's catalogue, which contains artist such as Timo Maas and Paul Oakenfold. Both companies will work closely together on the promotion of the product, which will hopefully include appearances and interviews from their roster of artists for PR. Both Timo and Oakenfold are massive gamers and were very keen to get involved in the project.

Electronic Arts announced today the North American release of The Lord of the Rings, The Two Towers video game for the PlayStation2 computer entertainment system and revealed plans to bring this highly-anticipated title to the Xbox video game system from Microsoft and Nintendo GameCube later this year. The Nintendo Game Boy Advance version will ship on Tuesday, November 12.

Midway Games Inc. announced today that Defender, an all-new 3-D version of the popular 1980s arcade classic, has shipped for the PlayStation2 computer entertainment system. Defender is scheduled to ship for the Xbox video game system from Microsoft, Nintendo GameCube and the Game Boy Advance on Nov. 4, 2002.

Sammy Studios Inc. today announced a new sequel based on the powerhouse Guilty Gear anime fighting series, coming to PlayStation2 in Q1 2003. BAM! Entertainment announced today that it will begin shipping Reign of Fire for PS2 and Game Boy Advance to retailers worldwide next week. Xbox and GameCube versions of the game will ship to retail by mid-November. Inspired by the feature film from Spyglass Entertainment, the action-packed game is supported by a multi-million dollar marketing campaign that includes a nationwide TV advertising effort, print and online advertisements, special retailer promotions, pre-order incentives and a multi-product rebate offer tied to the movie's DVD release slated for November 19th.

In Evolution Worlds, Adventures like Mag Launcher, Chain Gun and Pepper Box possess Cyframes, or magical body weaponry. These Cyframes give special, skilled attacks that are learned through experience. Players can also find or buy parts to upgrade their Cyframe for more types of attacks. For example, Mag Launcher has a Cyframe that starts with a Hand and Hammer parts to do punching and pounding attacks, but he can find other parts such as a Spray for gassing, Boulders for rock attacks, Spinner for yo-yo attacks, etc. Players can add slots to carry as many as 100 parts, and upgrade the parts for more attack power.

The 3DO Company today announced that Street Racing Syndicate is currently in development for the PlayStation2 computer entertainment system, the Xbox video game system from Microsoft, and the Nintendo GameCube system. Scheduled for release in 2003, "SRS" captures the heart of street racing culture, and includes extensive car customization, police intervention, and high stakes competition. The game is being developed by racing game specialist Eutechnyx Ltd. which has developed such popular titles as F1 World Grand Prix 2000, 007 Racing and Le Mans 24 Hours.
