Electronic Arts announced today that it has shipped Shox for the PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system. Racing rookies as well as seasoned speed demons will hit the circuit to compete in amped-up arcade-style off-road car racing. Jumping into one of 24 licensed high voltage vehicles from Porsche, BMW, Subaru, Toyota, Ford, and other manufacturers, players race through three-lap circuits on dirt, snow, and asphalt. Sliding through dusty roads, slipping on ice, and shredding through tree-lined dirt trails, it's crowded on the open road, as six competing cars try to muscle into prime position, wreaking havoc along the way. Additionally, up to 4 players can compete for top rankings in a multiplayer split-screen mode. Shox for the PlayStation 2 carries an "E" (Everyone) rating from the ESRB and is priced at US MSRP $49.99. Shox was developed by Electronic Arts UK.

Midway Games Inc. announced today that Dr. Muto, an all-new fully 3-D action-adventure videogame, has shipped for the PlayStation2 computer entertainment system and the Xbox video game system from Microsoft. Videogame publisher Konami of America Inc. announced today that its popular Winning Eleven series (known in Europe as Pro Evolution Soccer) will be published for the first time in North America. European and Japanese versions of Winning Eleven have sold nearly 4 million units worldwide, making it the world’s best-selling soccer game for the PlayStation 2.
