A few months back it was revealed Blizzard closed down the Blizzard North office, responsible for the Diablo franchise. While people were given other opportunities inside Blizzard, several decided to venture out. Hyboreal Games is founded by Diablo developers and former Blizzard employees Eric Sexton, Michio Okamura, and Steven Woo, and several others are said to join them shortly. While details are completely non-existent, their current, and first, project is Starfall.

BFME 2 takes part in the North where a battle is raging between Sauron's forces vs. elves and dwarves. It will be possible to create/customize your own hero, apart from known figures such as Arwin, and become more powerful as you progress in the game. While BFME was all land based, the sequel will also take the action on the sea, naval battles included, courtesy of an updated engine.

S2 will significantly improve the game - important features have been added, dynamic camber (improved simulation of suspension and different suspension types), highly detailed tyre physics and a damage model have been introduced. The LFS team has released a small update patch for the Live for Speed S2 alpha demo adding new language support, and the usual game tweaks and bug fixes.

In an interview with German financial newspaper Euro am Sonntag Microsoft executive Chris Lewis revealed that it will have approximately 300,000 Xbox 360 consoles available throughtout Europe for its launch on December 2. Industry analysts' estimates of 300,000 Xbox 360s available at launch "were not far removed from reality," said Chris Lewis. After selling out merely hours after launch in North America, Microsoft expect the European launch to be equally successfull, and aims to deliver up to 3 million units within three months of launch.

official Infinity War forums are up in arms over the lack of support and communication from Activision and Infinity Ward, and are planning a 24 hour server boycott to take down their multiplayer servers. The people have been disgruntled for a little while because of the lack of information regarding Call of Duty 2 in terms of future support, especially anti-cheat/punkbuster integration, etc. but what made the pot boil over was a recent

EA revealed that the BFME II closed multiplayer beta test will start early December and people who pre-ordered the game will be able to join mid-December, and will run up until the game’s ship date. Details aren't finalized yet but the multiplayer beta test will include multiple factions and maps. The beta test pre-order program will start tomorrow November 24. A downloadable single-player demo featuring skirmish battles against the computer AI will be released at some point before the game ships.

Dimension Films has sealed a deal to acquire North American distribution rights to the vidgame-based action pic Dead or Alive by The Transporter helmer Corey Yuen, which will be shot in China starting next fall. Devon Aoki, Sarah Carter, Natassia Malthe, Matthew Marsden, Jaime Pressly, Eric Roberts and Holly Valance star in the adaptation. Dimension recently also signed on with Crystal Sky Pictures to produce Castlevania.

Recently Eidos announced its newest title Zero Tolerance : City Under Fire, which was previously known as Roll Call. As it turns out that name change wasn't a very good idea as back in 1994 there was a Megadrive game with that same name, from developer Technopop. Somebody forgot to do their homework and check with the registration, resulting in Eidos getting sued for Copyright Infringement in North America and will have to explain its case before the U.S. Patent Office. Whether this legal action will have an impact on the title's release date is not known, no Eidos representative could be reached for comment.

A few months back EA's Mark Skaggs took an extended leave of absence after completing Battle for Middle Earth, and now it seems he won't be coming back, at least not to EA.
