Codemasters today reveals that Operation Flashpoint 2, the sequel to the internationally acclaimed military action simulator, will feature three different theatres of combat set in environments across Southeast Asia, Central Europe and Africa. Multiplay, the UK's leading "LAN Party" organisers today announced the sponsorship of their upcoming i15 event by the game publisher Codemasters. This sponsorship will bring prize-winning tournaments to the event for two of the latest games from Codemasters, the first-person shooter Project IGI2 and long awaited sequel to Toca Touring Cars 2, Toca Race Driver. A prize fund of £1,500 is up for grabs in the IGI2 tournament, which will be played on the retail version of the game due for release on the 21st February. The tournament will see up to 48 clans (teams) battling it out for a share in the prize money. To make things interesting, the i15 tournament play will include a completely new map, pre-released exclusively to i15 attendees.

Codemasters today confirms it has secured the global publishing rights to "World War II: RTS" (development title only) from 1C Company, the leading Russian game company renowned for the acclaimed flight simulator, IL-2 Sturmovik. Designed to take players closer to the entire, gruelling war experience than any strategy game previously, "World War II: RTS" will capture both the tactics and the emotions of being a commander in WWII’s key battles. The game has already attracted much attention for its historical detail and dramatic use of impressive visuals. Codemasters has won the exclusive console and PC game rights to the US-based Indy Racing League in a deal with Indianapolis Motor Speedway, LLC. The arrangement includes the rights to the "Greatest Spectacle in Racing", the Indianapolis 500-Mile Race, also known as the Indy 500.
